SODA:
"Please oh please can we come?" begged Cheryl, clasping her hands together in front of her.
Andrew stood just behind her, looking a little embarrassed of his girlfriend.
"No, now stop that. You look stupid," I snapped.
We were all standing out by my car ready to go, but Toby and Lacy wouldn't leave until Keenon came down from the apartment. I knew the guy didn't want to come, and I sure didn't want him to come, so I didn't understand why everyone was trying so hard to make us connect.
"But Soda, I'm your cousin-"
"Shut up Cheryl!" I yell, whirling on her. "You aren't invited, so just shut up and go home with your boytoy."
She looked to be on the verge of tears as she stomped back to her car with Andrew in tow.
"Soda," Lacy said in a harsh tone, "don't talk to her like that! She just wanted to hang out with you."
I was just about to lose my cool on every single person close to me when the door to the building closed with a thud. Keenon came ambling as slowly as possible down the steps with his hands shoved in the pockets of his dark jeans. He wore a black button up with the jeans, and black shoes, with his hair spiked messily in the front. I had to admit, he looked hot.
When he looked up after wasting five minutes to just walk over, our eyes met and his blatantly traveled down the length of my body very slowly. I had on the same black romper I had worn the last time I went to a club, not seeing any reason to wear something different, and my hair was loosely curled. I had long, thick hair, so it always looked good in waves.
His eyes came back up to meet mine, and I raised my brows at him, silently asking him if he was done checking me out. A slow but steady grin broke out across his face, showing dimples like mine in both cheeks. I smirked back at him, not about to let it show that I had a weakness for dimples and dark spiked hair.
"Keenon, there you are! Geez man, come on already," Toby said impatiently, opening the car door for Lacy. Lance gave him a dirty look, but Toby ignored it and just grinned at Lacy.
Lacy, Lance, Toby, Keenon, and I were in my car, supposed to meet Jasmine and Kyle at the party. My phone dinged and I looked at it, reading the directions Jasmine sent me before getting in the car.
Of course, my friends made Keenon sit up from with me. We glared at each other briefly as if we hadn't just checked each other out, then went back to staring in our own directions.
About halfway to the party, my phone went off and I answered, keeping my left hand on the wheel.
"Yep."
"Gear up, looks like trouble tonight," a deep voice said, making my skin crawl. I knew that voice.
I kept my face neutral, although I could feel Keenon watching me, and said steadily, "Any suggestions?"
There was a pause and then some crackling before he answered. "Travis Medery. Pick him up tonight. He just passed the expiration date on our deal. I want his company. Deal with it."
"Yes, Boss."
The line went dead and I put my phone under my bare leg, finally turning to glare at a still staring Keenon.
"Can I help you?"
He grinned at me in an extremely annoying way and shrugged. "Not yet, but if I think of anything, I'll be sure to let you know."
"Dickhead," I muttered, keeping my eyes on the road.
"Yes my dick does have a head, are you interested in giving any?"
