KEENON:

The fight tomorrow consumed my every thought as I jogged back to the apartment, sweat dripping off my bare chest and hair. Tay had worked me hard at the gym today, making sure I was absolutely prepared for this fight, but I didn't have that euphoric feeling I always had the days leading up to a fight. I hadn't felt that excitement in a long time. People had stopped betting on me, even though I still won, which is dumb. They said I had lost my spark, whatever that meant.

Rodney 'The Rock' Joden was my competitor this time, undefeated and well-respected in the underground fights. When I first got the news from Tay that I was going to fight him, I laughed in his face. No way was Keenon Baden, mid-level underground fighter, going to stand a chance against someone so skilled. But, Tay said I could do it if I tried, so we went to work. I still wasn't at all confident that I was going to win, but I at least knew he wouldn't be able to completely kill me in the ring.

I wearily jogged up the sets of stairs to the third floor of the building, cursing my fear of elevators and well, most anything that closed me in for too long. I could hear voices coming from the apartment which made me pause before unlocking the door. My antisocial roommate never ever talked, much less had company. I was still amazed at the amount of words that had come out of her mouth this morning alone. She was worse than me when it came to having a conversation.

Shrugging, I went ahead and pushed the door open, utterly shocked by what I saw.

My roommate was running around the living room in nothing but sweatpants and a bra while some guy I had never seen before chased her around with what looked like an egg raised in his right hand.

"Don't you do it, Brody! Stay away or I swear-" she cut herself off with a yelp as she ducked behind the couch.

This Brody guy took a flying leap over the back of the couch and snatched her up by the waist before she could run away. With a quick yank of his wrist, she slammed into his chest.

"Brody NO! NOOO-"

Brody stopped her scream effectively by smashing the egg down onto her head, the runny yolk running all down her forehead and long hair in a sticky mess.

"Brody!" she yelled, slamming her fist into his stomach hard enough to earn a grunt from him.

In response, Brody just fell out in the floor laughing and clutching his stomach, pointing at her. "That's what you get!"

I took a careful step forward, causing both of them to turn their heads in my direction. My roommate just stood there seething while Brody immediately got up and brushed himself off as if covered in dust before crossing his sizable arms across his chest.

"And just who are you?" he asked, looking me up and down.

"Uh, her roommate? Who are you?" I asked, furrowing my brow at him.

He ignored me for a second to turn to the egg covered victim. "Your roommate?" he asked, giving her a dirty look.

Turning to me, his demeanor changed quite suddenly as his chest swelled and he glared at me. "Have you fucked my sister?" he asked quite bluntly.

My roommate smacked her palm to her forehead and sighed loudly while my jaw fell open.

"No! Of course n- wait, sister?"

I looked between the two of them and my eyes automatically picked out the resemblances. His hair color matched hers perfectly, but his was short and messy. His eyes were blue while hers were light green, and they both had the same tan flawless skin and dimples in their cheeks. However, the likeness stopped there seeing as how he was almost exactly my height, towering over his sister. Both would be considered 'hotties'.
