Chapter 7: Who's best on a horse?, Where's the Golden Oldie coming from?

Meanwhile, back at the town, the locals are inside the store. Walter is using the dead snake creature as a photo shoot on a chair. He put up a sign that says, "Photos, you +the snake monster. Only $3.00." Mindy is on the chair, with the snake. She looks nervous as Walter is gonna take a picture. 

Walter: Mindy, smile. 

Nancy: Come on, honey. Don't look so afraid. It's not gonna hurt you. I promise. 

Walter: Mindy, look up. Smile. 

Nancy: Come on.

Walter: Hold it. 

He takes her picture before she could smile. Then, he and Cole catch Melvin trying to open the register.

Cole: Melvin, get out of there now!

He pulls him away from it. The heroes, Val and Earl look at this as they stand by the counter. 

Earl: Old Chang, slick as snot, and I ain't lying. 

Val: 15 lousy bucks.

Earl: A man who plans ahead... 

Sora: Well, he is smart. Maybe that way, he'll get more money for this. He'll earn it. 

Ruby: Yeah. I heard he still has family out there. I wonder if he'll ever see them. 

Velvet: Maybe he will someday. 

As they talk, Burt talks to Danny at the table as most gather around.

Burt: Look, we arm ourselves, we set perimeters, we stand guard. Any of those snake things show up here, we make them extinct. And Sora and his friends will join us too. 

Melvin: Alright!

Danny: I don't know, Burt. I'm the only one here who has the weapons. Everyone else are just civilians. 

Nestor: Come on, Burt, get serious. 

Miguel: Yeah! You make it sound like a war. 

Burt: What have you people got against being prepared? Where's the sugar?

Val: Rambo.

Cole: We don't got anything against it. But we don't know how many there are. And the sheriff is the only law officer here. 

Nancy: Wait a minute. Walter's got a CB radio. (Looks at Walter) Why aren't you calling somebody in Bixby? The police...

Walter: No. We can't reach outside the valley because of the mountains. 

Danny: He's right. The mountains will block any long range communcations, except short range. 

Walter: Melvin, you're next. Come on. Sit down, look scared. 

They both walk over to the chair. Cole then gets an idea.

Cole: Wait. I've got it. We can use the CAT. We can use it to dig up the boulders, and clear away the road. 

Heather: I'm afraid that won't work, Cole. The CAT isn't strong enough to lift up heavy rocks and boulders. The phone's out. The road's out. We're on our own. 

Brenda: (Nods) Hmm-mmm. We've got to fight them. 

Nancy: (Looks at them) You three are just loving it, aren't you? 

Heather: Come on, Nancy. Let's don't get personal about this thing! We gotta do something. 

Burt: Heck, yes! (Gets up, and walks to the window) We are completely cut off. We got the cliffs to the north. Moutains to the east and the west. That's why Heather, Brenda and me settled here in the first place. (Walks back to the table, and sits down) Geographic isolation.
