Chapter 4: Less than Perfection, high and dry

They're now digging the trash up. Earl is driving the CAT to push it through the sand. Val picks up a trash bag, but it's been ripped, and the garbage falls out of it. He grunts and throws it down. Sora helps him out as he picks them up with another trash bag. Riku, Roxas, Kai, Toji, Jaune, Ren, and Yuu dig through the sand to pick up the trash. They finish up an hour later, and they're now relaxing. Val and Earl go to down on old couches, while the boys go sit on seats by an old table. Nestor had their drinks ready for them after they're done with the garbage. They open up their drinks, and drink. They all sigh.

Sora: Well, looks like we can handle garbage well by cleaning up. 

Riku: Yep. 

Jaune: But come on, guys. This has got to be low. We should set our sights a little more higher. I mean, don't you agree?

Next, they help Val and Earl with Chang's portable tank that reads, "Chang's U Rent. Cesspool-Septic pump." Sora unhooks the hose from the tank. Stting on a chair neaby is Melvin, on his family's trailer camper, twirling his basketball on his finger. Sora helps Val and Earl set up the hose to the pipe.

Val: Hey, Melvin, why don't you give us a hand? Most of this crap is yours anyway. 

Melvin: Listen, run down to the store and pick me up a six-pack. I'll pay for it. 

Earl: Son, beer is for adults. 

Riku: Yeah. And you're not an adult. 

Earl and Kai walk over to the tank to ready it. Sora and Val walk over to them. 

Earl: (To Val) You know, not having a plan is what keeps us doing jobs like this. 

Val: (Turns valve) Just doing jobs like this is you dragging your feet. 

Earl: (Walks over to the main valve, looks at Val) Are you gonna stand there and tell me, in broad daylight, that I'm the reason we're still in Perfection? You know how close I am to leaving this place right now? (Turns the valve) 

Val: (Walks over to him) I'll call that little bluff. How close?

They're standing by the hose as they look at each other. Then, the tank rumbles, and sludge spews out of a hole in the hose, hitting Val and Earl in their faces. The boys also get caught in it too as a trail of waste continue to pour on them. Melvin sees this, and laughs at their misfortune from the side, enjoying the show as they're shouting and yelling. 

Earl: Shoot!

Val: Gosh dang!

Kai: Oh, man! It got in my eyes!

Jaune: Some of it got in my mouth! 

Sora: Ugh! Jeez!

Val: Gee whiz! Gosh dang! 

Riku: (Glares at Melvin) You better stop laughing, or I'm gonna put your face in this stuff!

Yuu: Oh, man! I gotta wash this off!

Later, the boys all come out of their bedrooms, all clean after taking showers. Sora sighs as he walks over to the couch. He looks outside, and sees that Val and Earl are packing up ther stuff from their trailer. They're putting them in the back of their truck. 

Sora: Well, looks like they're heading out now. 

Kairi: Yeah. I can't believe what just happened to you guys.

Jaune: Me neither. That was bad luck for us. 

Yang: Better you than us, vomit boy. 

Jaune glares at her, still not liking that name. Yang smirks at him. Miki comes out.
