Chapter 18: Working up to it, local heroes, ending/epilogue

Two days later, the locals and heroes are in the town. They got the road cleared up, and the police and other people showed up to see what the problem is. They told them about the worms, and showed them the bodies. They start cleaning up the town. Val and Earl get new tires for their truck. Sora and Jaune help them out. They roll them to the truck. 

Val: Now, the second we hit Bixby, we start making some phone calls. I mean, we could make some real money on this thing. We could get in People magazine. 

Earl: People? Heck! National Geographic. 

Val: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Sora: Well, remember, guys, we're heroes now. We should keep that in mind. Don't you think?

Earl: (Chuckles) Don't you worry, Sora. We will.

They all turn around, and see Rhonda walking to them with a camera. She looks at Val and Earl.

Rhonda: Smile. 

Earl stands up, and stands by Val. They both look at her as she takes the picture. The heroes then gather together as she turns to them. They all smile, and she takes the picture. 

Rhonda: Burt loaned me his camera. 

Earl: Yeah. He gave us these tires, too. 

Sora then notices Val taking some pictures off the rearview mirror. He foils them down, and throws them in the truck as Rhonda walks up to him. Earl checks out the engine. 

Rhonda: It's all pretty exciting, huh? There's gonna be major research, and I'm gonna be in on it. The first thing to do is take some pictures of that one we dug up. 

Val: (Looks at her) Yeah. Yeah. Pictures seem like a good idea. 

Earl and the heroes watch this, and they see that they really like each other so much. 

Rhonda: Yeah, well, thanks for everything, you know, saving my life and stuff. 

Val: (Stammers) Yeah, well...(Smiles) You're welcome. 

Rhonda: (Smiles) Maybe I'll see you sometime? 

Val: Uh-huh. 

Earl shakes his head as he keeps checking the engine. The heroes keep watching this. They're a little hoping that they ask each other out or something. They both look at each other with hesitation on their faces. She looks over to Earl, who gives her a smile. She then looks at the heroes, who wave at her. She smiles. 

Rhonda: Well, see you. 

She then walks away. Val watches her walk, trying to think of something. Everyone looks at him as Earl then slams the hood down. Val jumps, and looks at him, who gives him a look.

Val: I know. I know! I'm working up to it. (Walks to it) What am I doing? I mean, what's a woman like her want with a guy like me? She's going for her dang PhD. 

The heroes all watch him go to her. They stop, and look at each other. It look like they're gonna talk more, but then...they both kiss each other on the lips. The heroes all smile at this. Sora holds Kairi's hand. Looks like things are now going well for Val now. And he has a new girlfriend.

Epilogue 

After spending about a few more weeks with the locals, the heroes finish their vacation, and go out to explore the worlds again. They're in the Gummi Ship, flying through space. Sora puts the names and pictures of the locals who died from the Graboids. Nestor, Walter, Danny, Edgar, Old Fred, Dr. Wallace and his wife. Sora sighs, and walks away to go to the controls. Looks like they've now got more fallen comrades on the wall. Sora really hates losing friends on their journeys. He touches where his heart is at, and closes his eyes. He connects his heart to the light, praying for it to help the fallen. He now sets the ship for the next journey. What will be their next one? 

Here's the 18th and final chapter of Kingdom Hearts: Tremors. Looks like I'm done with this story now. The heroes are finished with their ruined vacation, but saved the day. And Miranda Richardson will be the voice for Insect Queen. The next journey will be in space in the future.
