With Brenda, she's with her parents in their truck. They've been driving out in the desert, looking for anything that those things might have left behind, or might have done bathroom business in the desert. They're now heading back to their home. Burt pulls in as the gate opens, and they park in front of their house. After that, they get out of the truck.
Burt: I don't know. I don't believe it. No tracks. No sign. No spoor. You'd think after eating all those sheep, they'd have to take a dump someplace.
Heather: Yeah. I don't understand it.
Brenda: Mom, maybe they have a strong stomach, or they don't do bathroom at all.
Heather: Maybe.
Brenda: (Looks at the town) Mom, look down there.
Heather looks at the town from the distance. She takes out her binoculars, and looks. She sees the town, and sees everyone on the rooftops. She looks at this with confusion in her eyes. She shows Brenda, and she looks at the town too as Burt goes inside the house. Meanwhile, back at the town, the heroes are on top of the store. Just then, they hear Burt's voice on Walter's radio.
Burt on C.B. radio: Yo, Walter. This is Burt. Come back.
Winter: (Gasps) The radio.
Yang: Let's get it.
Momo: We can't. Those things are down there.
Cole: Wait. It's by the window on this side.
They all look at each other. Goofy is being lower down to the window. He looks around, and sees the radio.
Burt on radio: Walter? Anybody copy? I'm waiting.
Goody reaches for it, and carefully picks it up.
Burt on radio: Walter, you there? Come back!
Goofy: Alright, I got it. Pull me up.
They all pull him up, and help him up. He gives the radio to Val.
Burt on radio: Yo, who's minding the store, for gosh's sake?
Val: (Talks on it) Burt, listen. We found out what's been killing people.
Earl: Say "over."
Val: Over.
Burt on radio: Negative copy on that, Walter. Check your frequency. I'm on 22. Come back.
Back at the house, Burt is in the basement, talking on his radio.
Val on radio: Burt, can you hear me now? Over.
Burt: Val, is that you? What're you doing back already?
Both Heather and Brenda come down to join him.
Heather: Hey, Burt, something real weird is going on over there. They're up on top of the roof.
Brenda: Yeah. Everyone is on the roofs.
Heather puts some bullets in a machine. She closes the lid and turns it on, and the bullets shake inside, making a noise. Back at the town, Kai and Riku look below, and see one of the Graboids moving fast, and it's heading straight for Burt's house.
Kai: Uh, oh.
Miguel: Hey, I think they're going for Burt's. Oh, man, they're going!
Everyone, and sees it's really moving fast. Meaning that it must of heard something at their house.
Kai: Val, warn them, hurry.
Val: (Talks on radio) Burt, get out of your basement. Take your radio. You, Heather and Brenda get up on your roof. We'll talk later. Ok? Over.
Back at the house, Val is confused upon hearing that.
Burt: Up on the roof? Val, what are you talking about?
Heather: Dang it, Burt. Just listen to him. Something's wrong.
Danny on radio: Burt, this is the sheriff! Jeez! Get up on your roof now! These things! They're under the ground. They're bigger than we thought. They're huge. They've just killed Walter! And now they're coming right after you guys. They're coming right now!
The family looks at each other. Heather and Burt pick up their guns as Brenda looks nervous.
Heather: Brenda, baby, stay by the stairs.
Brenda stays by the stairs as her parents look out the windows. They look around, but don't see anything. Burt walks back to the radio, and picks it up.
Burt: We don't see anything, sheriff. What the heck are you all talking about? Over.
Val on radio: Burt, they're under the ground. They're under the ground. They can dig like a son of a freak. Big monsters! Underground! Now get out! Hurry!
Just then, they hear rumbling behind the wall. They all look at it, and both Heather and Burt stand back as stuff come off the wall. And something is pushing the tool shelf off the wall. It comes off, and falls down on the floor. And then, a Graboid bursts through the wall, roaring. Brenda screams as she sees it.
Burt: Jeez!
Back at the town, the radio cuts out. Everyone all sigh as they're too late to warn them. Then, they hear gunshots in the distance. They all look at the house, praying for the family to be okay. Back at the house, Burt and Heather are shooting at the Graboids with bullets. Brenda stays by the stairs, gasping as she looks at the worm. It opens its mouth, and releases the snake tongues, which screeches. Brenda screams again.
Heather: Brenda, stay back!
They both go for more guns.
Brenda: Daddy, look out!
One of the snakes grabs Burt's leg. He shouts as he falls down. It drags him towards the mouth. Heather picks up a shotgun, and shoots at the tongue. She shoots it in half, and Burt gets back up as the Graboid slams its head on the ceiling, They continue firing at it. It takes a lot of bullets as it bleeds a little. Burt picks up another shotgun, and fires at it in its mouth.
Brenda: Daddy, wait! The elephant gun! Use that!
Burt hears her, and runs to the glass case to where it's at. He breaks it up, and takes it out. He loads it up as Heather picks up a flare gun, and fires a flare in its mouth. It shrieks as it feels the fire. Brenda looks down, and sees a pistol. She looks at it, and at the worm. She reaches down, and picks it up. She fires at the worm, hitting its side. Heather sees this, and smiles at her daughter. Burt finishes loading the elephant gun, and aims at the worm. It opens its mouth as both girls cover their ears. He fires at it, and it hits its mouth. It shrieks as it slams its head to the side. Burt fires again, and blows through its head. They all look at it as it groans weakly, and drops down dead. Burt drops the gun as he leans back, panting heavily. Both his wife and daughter walk to him, and hug him as they all look at the dead Graboid. Burt starts smirking.
Burt: Broke into the wrong goshdang rec room, didn't you, you scumsucker?
Heather smirks too as she nods at this. Brenda hugs her father more as she looks her parents. Burt saw what she did, and smiles at her. Proud to see that his daughter has stand up for herself against that thing. She smiles at him. Looks like they've got another one. And only three left.
