"Being back home with you is the best feeling ever," Lando nuzzled his face into my neck and pressed his soft lips to my warm skin. "I love being away with you and making memories, but being in our bed together is pretty good, too."
"You can say that again." I giggled as I felt his hand rest on my bare stomach before I interlocked my fingers between his.
We arrived home from Japan this morning after a thirteen-ish hour flight from Nagoya to Heathrow. I slept for about eight hours, which was so unlike me, but Lando made sure I didn't sleep at all today since we arrived home. Being tucked up in bed by eight after eating and having a warm bath made it worth it though.
Lando had a good weekend in Japan. He qualified P8 but finished the race in P11, so he was a little disappointed to just miss out on the final point, but I was proud of him regardless. Seeing him in his element on a race track was everything to me. I wanted to imprint that image on my memory forever.
"I can't believe there's only four more races left of this season," I exhaled as I cuddled closer to Lando's warmth. "And God, I've loved every single second of it so far."
"I never want it to end," he whispered into my hair. "I never want this to end."
It was on his mind more than before. Losing me. I could see it in his eyes as he watched the way Cyrus spoke to me at my appointment this afternoon, whilst he gripped onto my hand like he was my life support machine. Honestly, at this point, he was my life support machine; I was only getting through this because of him.
"Next year will be even better," I had to be hopeful around him. "We will make it even better."
"I hope so," he kissed my temple. "You were so brave today."
