"It looks so fun!" Mila clapped her hands together as she stood beside Adam, her feet placed between the gaps in the fence. Lando flew past them in his kart, Mila clapping her hands as Adam placed a hand on her back to prevent her from falling backwards. "So cool! Lando is so good at it!"

"He works hard, doesn't he, Mils?" Adam smiled at the young girl, her hair in pigtails as she clapped her hands in excitement. She often accompanied Lando and Adam on track days. Sometimes, Oliver came along because he was also good at karting, but today, he was at home with his mum, helping her around the house and looking after his siblings.

"I wish I could do something like that, but I can't because of my heart," Mila sighed before allowing Adam to lift her from the fence and place her on the ground. He looked at her sadly, feeling sorry for her because he didn't think she would ever say something like that. In a way, it broke his heart. "Mum and dad say it's too dangerous, but I want to help Lando achieve his big dream of driving on the television!"

Adam chuckled to himself but he nodded at Mila, before they both took a seat at the wooden picnic bench which was located only metres away from the fence. Lando had time to put in a few more laps before his break. Mila crossed her legs, her fingers clasped together and resting in her lap. She looked up at Adam before casting her eyes back on the track.

"So, you know how Lando can drive a kart?" She chewed on her lip as curiosity filled the air through the simple tone of her voice. Adam glanced down at her, nodding slowly, but wondering what Mila could possibly ask next. Her imagination was vivid and extravagant; with Mila and the potential of her questions, it was a must to be prepared. "Does that mean he can drive a car on the road?"

"Not quite yet, Mila," Adam chuckled to himself. The little girl frowned whilst furrowing her eyebrows together. "It'll be a few years yet until Lando can drive on the road. Did you want him to drive you everywhere?"

"Yes," Mila sighed. "Mummy's driving is boring. At least Lando is a fun driver!"

Adam smiled at Mila. Just like his wife, Mandy and Mark, he loved the relationship his youngest son had with Mila. He knew that their friendship was like no other and they had a bond that nobody could break. Even though Mila was adamant she didn't want to speak to Lando after he waited so long to tell her he was leaving school to learn at home, they quickly made up. Mila spent her time in her bedroom, barely sulking, simply upset, until Mandy managed to talk her out of her sadness. Lando came over the following day and he apologised, with Mandy sitting beside him and promising Mila that it was not Lando's idea to keep it quiet. He stayed over that night and they spent the night curled up on the sofa beneath blankets, watching Formula One races, per Lando's request.

"Stay here, Mila. I'll be back with Lando in five minutes." Adam pressed a kiss to Mila's forehead and she nodded, smiling widely at the thought of seeing her best friend after his session on the track. She was so proud of him. After starting to visit the track on more occasions with Lando, she began to realise just how good he was and she knew that he would achieve everything he wanted to one day. Being able to support him was amazing.

"Lando!" Mila giggled, jumping from her seated position to run towards her best friend with a wide grin on her face. She threw herself at him, almost forcing Lando to the ground, but he managed to stay upright and wrap his arms around Mila. Her face pressed against his neck and from the corner of her eye, Mila noticed Adam standing behind them with Lando's helmet in his hand. "You were so good!"
