Kennedy Thornton was raised in a beach-side mansion on Figure Eight. She was born into money—old money, the kind that secured a perfect future and a place at every country club in the State. Her life had been decided for her even before she was born alongside her twin brother. Their lives had been strategically planned. They would do well in high school, graduate and go to an Ivy League college, meet a partner who also came from old money, settle down, have babies and pass the cycle down to their kids. That was what was expected of Kennedy. But she thought it was total bullshit.
One thing her parents could not have planned, was that Kennedy would turn out to be a wild-child. No matter how hard they would try reminding her that she was a good girl, Kennedy couldn't help but be roped into any kind of trouble. It gave her the thrill her life was otherwise lacking and it made her feel free, like she was slowly wriggling out of her parents chains.
JJ Maybank on the other hand, had been born and raised on the Cut—making him Kennedy's total opposite. He didn't live in a nice house, a few minutes from the beach, instead, he lived with his single alcoholic father in an old shack on the wrong side of the island. The one thing JJ and Kennedy had in common was their tendency for being a total wild card. JJ was free in all of the ways Kennedy never would be, but Kennedy had everything a boy like JJ could dream about. They couldn't have been more different. But one summer can change everything.

AUTHORS NOTE. here we go! third time lucky with this book! hopefully, i'll be sticking with this and i can finally get onto season 2/3 because I've been so excited to write those seasons! once again, i've changed up the plot quite a bit bc I decided i didn't like the previous one that much and i think this one is far better! it will focus more on kennedy's kook life because i think that was something that was severely lacking in the other versions of this book! so anything you remember reading, just scrap it, because there will be many differences in this newer version! also, kennedy WILL get on your nerves at times because she has the tendency to act like an entitled brat, but that's the whole point of her character development!!
