Rade's POV
My father was awake. I always knew he'd pull through. Though I wasn't expecting it to be so soon.

Celeste paused, looking back at me in confusion when I made no move to follow them into the hospital. "Aren't you coming?" She asked, doe eyes searching my face in concern.

"No."

Her lips parted, but no words came out. She simply nodded and headed inside.

I sighed deeply and got back in the car. I didn't want to see his face. It will just end up pissing me off. I've thought about telling Celeste about my strained relationship with my father but every time he's brought up, I want to punch something. Or someone.

"Fuck," I grumbled when I saw my sister storming out of the hospital. She was coming straight for me, electricity crackling in her blue eyes. Eyes so much like our father's.

She knocked on the passenger's side window, demanding I roll the window down so she can yell at me. I lowered my seat back, trying to hide from her wrath.

"I can still see you," she snapped.

Shit.

I inclined my seat back up and reluctantly rolled the window down. Immediately, she began to yell at me. I only replied when she said, "You're coming in with me."

"No."

She growled in frustration. "Why are you so stubborn? You're like a child."

I said nothing. It's better to be silent when my sister is on another one of her angry rants. It's not going to make her stop, but it helps when you're trying to zone her out.

She stomped her foot when she realized she wasn't going to win this round. "Fine," she said with a huff, before pivoting and disappearing back inside.

Celeste's POV
I don't know what happened, but it had to be bad if Rade was refusing to come see his father in the hospital. He hasn't seen him since he was admitted, and I thought waking up from a coma would change that. I guess not since Thalia came back into the room pissed and alone.

"He's not coming," Harvey realized sadly as soon as he saw Thalia return and Rade wasn't with her.

"I'm sorry, dad," Thalia said in defeat. "I really tried, but Rade's so freaking stubborn."

Harvey chuckled lightly. "Just like his mother."

They both were smiling now. Reminiscing. I knew what it was like to lose a mother. I also knew what it was like to lose someone you love. It's not something you ever really get over. But you keep pushing, because the world isn't going to stop moving even if yours did.

Harvey turned his attention to me. It was evident that the old man had lost quite a bit of weight. His skin had far more wrinkles than it did before and his hair is even thinner now. Still, in spite of having a heart attack and being in a coma, he smiled happily.

"How's Mr. Hendersen?" He asked.

"I wouldn't know. We are currently separated."

Harvey's saddened expression returned, his gaze falling to Everly, before floating back up to me. "I'm so sorry to hear that."

"It's okay."

He knew Sam and I hadn't been in a good place. And that we hadn't been for a while. Whenever Andi was busy, he was the one I told all my problems too. He'd let me blow off some steam and not once did he interrupt.

Everly, having pulled away from me when we first walked in, stood by Harvey's side with tear-filled eyes. Harvey noticed and smiled down at her. "Aww, don't cry little one."
