It's been a few days since Rade decided to stop fighting. I actually caught him journaling the other day. It was nice to see him finally doing something healthy to deal with his emotions. Now, if I could just get him to speak with his father.

Everly and I have visited Harvey several times, and Rade has either refused to come or has some excuse about work to avoid joining us.

I understand forgiveness takes time. I should know. I still haven't quite found it in myself to forgive Sam.

Things between us haven't been good. He knows about me and Rade. Not that it's any of his business to begin with, but now I'm suddenly a slut for sleeping with my Chauffeur when he's the one who cheated and had two kids. He's been calling and texting, demanding I keep Rade away from our daughter.

Like hell I will.

You don't get to demand anything of me when your fiancée spends the majority of her time at the house that used to belong to me.

I won't keep Everly from her siblings, but until I feel comfortable enough, Camille is to stay away from my daughter.

I've been trying not to let the drama with my ex consume me. I just started my new job, and I don't want the stress of that to start trickling into my place of work. It's bad enough that Rade has to hear me complain about what a shitty ass person my ex is.

After clocking out of work, I dragged my feet all the way to my car in the parking lot. I was exhausted. My face ached from smiling so much, and all I wanted to do was sleep.

I got home around dinner time, mindlessly following the delicious smell leading into the kitchen where I knew Rade would be.

Everly is over at her dad's, so it's just us tonight. It's a bitter sweet feeling. I miss my daughter greatly, but at the same time, I enjoy spending time alone with Rade. Though it would be nice for all of us to have another movie night or hang out at the park again.

I leaned over the counter and sighed. Rade tossed the towel over his shoulder and turned to kiss my head. "Hug?" He whispered.

"Mhm."

I straightened and wrapped my arms around him. His hugs are my favorite. I look forward to them every day. I honestly don't know how I've survived without them all this long time.

My phone vibrated in my pocket. I rolled my eyes. I knew it was Sam. And it probably had nothing to do with our daughter.

Rade's hand dropped to my ass. I thought he was going to squeeze it, but then he pulled out my phone to look at the text Sam had sent.

The muscle in his jaw ticked. "I'm really trying not to get involved, but I really don't appreciate how he's speaking to you."

The venomous threat oozing from his tone of voice didn't go unnoticed.

I took my phone back, not bothering to even glance at the screen as I set it aside. "I'm handling it."

"Celeste-"

I stood up on the tips of my toes and kissed him. This wasn't his fight, just like the issues with his father weren't mine.

"I don't want to talk about him anymore."

His eyes drift to my mouth. Then my eyes. "What do you want then?"

"To go for a drive. For old times' sake."

He nodded. "Destination?"

I shook my head. "No destination. Oh, and can you wear your uniform?"

One brow remained lowered while the other raised. A small grin formed, his gray eyes sparkling with curiosity. "Do you want me to put you in the backseat as well?"
