Once Renjun had calmed Jeno down, they both put his room back to normal, a grimm silence occupying the room. If Renjun was being completely honest he didn't know what to say.
He'd never seen Jeno look so upset, he didn't think ghosts could feel this much.

Once they'd cleaned up the mess Renjun took a seat as his desk. The broken light bulb had be removed and thrown away, and now he stared at the empty lamp shade as he tried to think of what to say.

Thankfully Jeno spoke up first.

"I can't be your friend anymore" the ghost says and Renjun only looks over at him, his brow creasing in confusion.

"What? Why?" He asked, not taking his gaze away as Jeno perches himself on the edge of the bed.

He was silent for a moment, almost as if he was contemplating what to say, how to explain what was happening. "I can't be just friends" he says finally causing Renjun to hold his breath in anticipation. "I thought I could but I miss your touch and your lips and I miss being able to touch you whenever and make you feel good" he explains, looking down at his hands and holding one up for Renjun to see.
The skin was no longer solid and instead was almost transparent. Renjun could make out the outline of his headboard through the flesh. "I'm paying the price".

Renjun only stares for a moment, his mouth trying to form the right words but he had no idea what to say.

"Jeno-" he starts but the ghost cuts him off.

"I know it's stupid, I'm dead and I have no right to feel this way about you but for the first time in years I finally care about someone enough to stay" his eyes shine with unshed tears "I don't want to leave you".

They both sit for a moment, Jeno's words lingering between them. Renjun's heart was beating a thousand miles a minute and he was surprised Jeno couldn't hear the fast thuds.

Finally Renjun stands from his chair and takes a few steps closer to the ghost. He stands above him, reaching up and tilting his head up, he leans down and places a tender kiss to his lips. God he'd missed this.

They pull apart and Renjun brushes a dark lock of hair from Jeno's face "you should want to leave" he says, hating his own words.
It was true, why should Jeno want to stay here. As much as Renjun's own heart beat for the ghost he knew Jeno could never give him the life he wanted. They're relationship exists within this house. It was never going to work.

"But I've only just found you" Jeno says, burying his face in Renjun's hoodie.

"And you'll find me again" Renjun says, his voice breaking slightly as he held back his own tears "you'll find me again if it's meant to be, I promise."

They stand like this for a while, just enjoying each other's presence.
When the hell did this even happen? Jeno had been the perverted and annoying ghost but he had become so much more.
He'd helped take Renjun's mind off the fact he had moved to a completely different country, knew no one. He'd been his first friend.

Renjun didn't want to lose him but he knew it would be cruel to keep him here for his own selfish needs. Besides he knew what he said was true, if this was meant to be then they'd find each other again, maybe in another life.

"How long do you think you can prolong it?" Renjun asks, breaking the silence.

Jeno looks up at his, his eyes still glossed over. "I'm not sure".

Renjun only nods and places a kiss on to Jeno's temple. "I have something to show you, but you'll have to wait until tomorrow" he says "I think you should see it before you, yanno, leave" Renjun finally allows a tear to fall, speaking the words aloud.

Because Jeno would be leaving, and he won't be coming back.

The house would feel so empty, just the thought made Renjun want to grip onto the ghost and never let go.
He wasn't ready.

"I want you to know that you're the best thing to ever happen to me, and I've been around a while" Jeno says and Renjun laughs a little as he reaches up and wipes a tear away.

"And I want you to know that there will never be a moment from this day on that you will not be missed by someone".

Jeno only pulls Renjun onto the bed, embracing him in a tight hug, it felt like he never wanted to let go. He he didn't, he never wanted to let go.
