When Renjun wakes up the next morning, the storm had stopped and the sun shone brightly through the window. He groans, rolling over, grabbing his phone and checking the time. He'd slept a little later than he would have liked to, but he wasn't late and still had plenty of time to get ready for school.

If he was being completely honest he was dreading school. Or to be more specific he was dreading seeing Jaemin. After panicking and falling into a puddle, the embarrassment was very much thriving.

Renjun forces himself to sit up, only to notice a semi-transparent figure sat on his windowsill. The ghost hadn't seemed to notice that Renjun had woken up, his gaze focused on the view out of the window. The left over rain drops from the night before, slipping from the leaves.
He'd be lying if he said he hadn't been thinking about what happened last night. The way Jeno had looked after him, had made sure he was warm and dry so he didn't catch a cold, and the way he had kissed Renjun's lips so passionately, held his hips tightly.

"Renjun?" A voice says, snapping the boy from his previous thoughts. He hums in response and looks over in Jeno's direction, the ghost obviously realising he was now awake. "We need to talk about what happened last night"

This seems to make the brunettes eyes widen a little "I-I know, look I think I-"

"It shouldn't have happened" Jeno interrupts, moving his gaze back to the window.
His words seem to make Renjun slouch a little and his heart feel heavy.

"Oh" he mutters, looking down at his bed sheets, picking a random loose thread and pulling until it snapped, the sound wasn't loud but in their silence Renjun flinched at the small snap.

How could Jeno be so nice to him, do all those things and kiss him in such a way yet say it shouldn't have happened? Renjun wasn't usually the type to open up to people and let them get so close to him, he couldn't help but feel that Jeno had led him on just a little.

"Look, I'm sorry if you-"

"No!" Renjun says before Jeno could finish his sentence. He pushes his bedsheets off and stands from his bed "You're right it shouldn't have happened. You're dead, that should be more than a reason it shouldn't have happened" Renjun nods, almost like he was agreeing with his own words. "I-I shouldn't have gotten carried away like I did". He forces a smile before walking over to his door, not letting Jeno say anything else.

"Are you okay? You seem pretty distant today" Yangyang asks, placing a hand on Renjun's shoulder. It wasn't like how Jaemin had wrapped his arm around him, Yangyang's gesture was much more friendly and comforting.

Renjun only shrugs, not sure what to say. 'I almost had sex with a ghost and then was rejected, no biggy' even for anyone that actually understood his situation, it would sound completely mad. "I'm just a little tired that's all"

"Aw you need to sleep earlier, don't worry about it too much though, it's Friday and you'll have all weekend to sleep" Yangyang smiles, giving Renjun a small pat on the back "you busy tonight?"
The question takes Renjun by surprise but he shakes his head nonetheless "I'm thinking of inviting a few people over to mine, don't worry it won't be a lot of people"

The brunette thinks for a moment, not sure whether it was a good idea, but then again it's not like Jeno would be waiting for him to come home. He looks over at Yangyang with a smile before nodding "sure, sounds fun"
What did he have to loose? Nothing!

Usually he would come home from school, greet his mum, go up and spend some time with Jeno, come back down for dinner and then hang out with Jeno again. It was the same routine everyday, but he wasn't in the mood to be in Jeno's presence since the ghost straight up rejected him as soon as he woke up this morning.

"Great! You live close to Jaemin right? I'm sure he wouldn't mind showing you where I live, come to mine for eight" Yangyang says and Renjun only nods, not even caring that he would be alone with Jaemin again. The embarrassment of that morning had beaten the embarrassment he felt the night before.

Suddenly, an idea comes to mind. He had no idea if it would work, but it was worth a try. "Would I be able to bring a friend, he's super kind and friendly, I think you guys will like him" he says, hopeful that Yangyang would agree. And to Renjun's relief the other boy nods.

"Of course you can, my parents aren't home tonight so I can have as many over as I like" he says and gives Renjun another big smile. "I gotta get to class but I'll see you tonight! See ya later!" He yells before running off down the corridor and disappearing around the corner.

Renjun had no idea if Jisung would agree to come, but maybe, just maybe Renjun had made him feel just a little more confident in meeting new people.

Renjun got home and as soon as he entered his room he spots Jeno sat on his desk chair, quickly getting up when Renjun steps in. The brunette only rolls his eyes, moving over to his dresser and grabbing a T-shirt he could swap with his oversized gray hoodie(he wanted to look somewhat decent since he usually showed up to school looking homeless).

"Renjun can we talk about this morning?" Jeno asks but Renjun doesn't give the ghost the satisfaction of his gaze, he busies himself with looking through his closet.

"What's there to talk about? Last night shouldn't have happened, let's just forget it happened" he shrugs, grabbing a denim jacket and yanking it off the hanger before slamming the door shut.

The ghost sighs "look, I'm sorry I shouldn't have said that, I can explain-"

"No jeno." Renjun interrupts, finally looking over at him "You're dead. You're a ghost. It shouldn't have happened. It was my fault for letting it happen, I was developing feelings for something that isn't even real" he says, noticing the sadness in Jeno's eyes but he ignores it. "I'm going out, do me a favour and leave me alone for a while".

And with that, Renjun leaves the room, not giving himself the opportunity to see Jeno's expression. He'd said what he needed to say, and now he was going to enjoy his night with friends that were actually alive.
