Renjun walks down the hallways, nervously pulling on his bag straps. He spots the sign for the main office, keeping his head down and speeding up his pace.

Finally he reaches the door and knocks once before hearing a faint 'come in'. Upon entering the room, Renjun notices a boy with chocolaty brown hair sat in one of the seats by the desk.

The principal smiles at Renjun and points towards the seat beside the boy. He awkwardly sits down, placing his bag on the floor, mentally screaming when it makes a louder noise than he wanted it to.

"Renjun, I'd like you to meet Yangyang, this is the Chinese student I was talking about yesterday" she says and the boy offers a smile to which Renjun awkwardly returns. "He's going to be your guide for the week just to help you settle into the school better"

Renjun nods in understanding. The headmistress explains a few things before handing Renjun his class schedule and sending the two boys on their way.

They stood outside of the office and almost instantly Yangyang had taken the piece of paper from Renjun's hands "oh you've got Math first, that's just around the corner come on" he says, handing the paper back before walking on ahead.
Renjun follows behind for a minute or so before they come to a stop. "Here it is" the boy beams, pointing towards the door.

"Thanks" Renjun mutters, making a move to enter the room but the other boy stops him.

"Look, I know starting a new school can be scary, especially in a different country, trust me I've been through it. If you need any help just come and find me" he says and instantly Renjun feels himself relax a little, already knowing that he liked Yangyang. He was too kind not to like. "I'll come back once the lesson is over and walk you to Art which is your second lesson, also don't worry about lunch, you can sit with me and my friends, they're pretty open to new people so they'll be happy to have you join us" he gives Renjun a small pat on the back before hurrying off down the corridor to his own class.

The brunette takes a deep breath before opening the door. Thankfully not many students were here yet and the teacher smiles when spotting Renjun.

"You must be our new student" he says, standing from his desk and moving a little closer to the boy "Renjun was it?" He asks to which Renjun nods. "I'm mr.Moon, I'll be your math teacher for the rest of the year, feel free to take a seat wherever you like"

With that Mr.Moon sat back down at his desk, perching a pair of round glasses on the tip of his nose as he scrolls through his laptop screen.

Renjun scans over the room, noticing a lot of free seats. He opts for one at the back, away from the rest of the class. He'd already had two awkward introductions and he needed a break.

The class started and Renjun was glad he was able to keep up with what Mr.Moon was saying. Renjun had almost completely forgotten about the fact he was at a new school.

But that feeling didn't last long.

As soon as the lesson finished he watched as the students stood and left. He slowly packs away, searching the crowded hallways for Yangyang but could see no sign of him.

His body seems to freeze and all of a sudden he didn't know what to do. Sure he could try and look for the art room by himself but the thought of how awkward he would look and how late he would be seemed to stop him. Of course he looked ten times more awkward stood in the middle of the hallway but that didn't cross his mind in the moment.

"You look lost" a voice says causing Renjun to jump a little in surprise. A boy with dark hair laughs a little at the reaction "Sorry I didn't mean to scare you" he apologises, holding his hand out "I'm Jaemin, Yangyang's friend, he had to stay back and speak to his teacher so he told me to come and make sure you're okay".

Renjun lets out a sigh of relief, shaking Jaemin's hand "I'm Renjun" he smiles, just happy that he no longer had to search the school for his correct classroom. Jaemin nods for him to follow.

They walk in silence for a while before Jaemin speaks up, obviously trying to make conversation to avoid the situation getting awkward "So do you live far from the school?" He asks as they begin to climb a set of stairs.

"I live about twenty minutes away on the other side of town, my parents drop me off through since my dad works close by" he explains and Jaemin nods in understanding.

"Cool, Ilive in that area too, I heard someone just moved into the big house at the end of my street, that wouldn't be you by any chance?" Jaemin holds a door open for the elder as they enter another corridor. This school was like a maze. he definitely wouldn't have been able to find the art room on his own.

Renjun had heard this town had a pretty close community but he didn't expect Jaemin, someone he had just met, to know exactly where he lived from a simple 'I live on the other side of town'.

"Uh, you mean the house with the overgrown ivy and the broken rusty gate? If so then yeah, that's me" he laughs a little, nervously pulling on his bag straps again.

"I knew it was you anyway, I've seen the moving vans drive down the street for the past three days, you keep coming out to help your parents" he assures "I'm not a creep I promise, I just get curious when someone new moves in, especially that house".
Renjun slows down until he stops. Jaemin seemed to notice, turning to give Renjun a worried look "Are you okay?"

Renjun nodded, snapping back to reality and carrying on to walk beside Jaemin. "Wh-What's wrong with my house?"

Jaemin only shrugs "I don't know I've never been in there, but people never live there for long, I'm not sure why" he explains, coming to a stop and pointing to a door. "This is the art room, I gotta get to class but you're sitting with us at lunch right?" Jaemin genuinely looked like he wanted Renjun to say yes.

The brunette nods which earns a bright smile from the younger boy before he walks off and enters one of the rooms further down the hallway.

The thought of what Jaemin had said about his house seems to stick in his mind. As far as he knew there was only one ghost and he didn't seem all that bad. A little annoying but other than that he didn't seem like a problem.

He shakes the thoughts away before entering the classroom. Finally a subject he was actually good at.
