Renjun lay in bed fast asleep. The room had seemed to warm up slightly making him feel nice and toasty in his bed.

But not for long.

Suddenly the window flew open with a bang causing Renjun to jump up in fright. He looked around with sleepy eyes before noticing the open window.
Slowly, he slipped out of the warm bed and was instantly engulfed by a frosty breeze.

He hugged his body as he closed and locked the window. With a deep sigh he turns back around. He was about to get back into bed but decided against it. Instead he went to the bathroom to try and calm down before he allowed himself to go back to sleep.

The door to his room clicked open and he ran across the corridor to the opposite room and locked the door.

He switched on the light and walked over to the large mirror on the opposite wall. The reflection looking back at him looked petrified which didn't come as a surprise. His heart was beating irregularly due to the sudden fright. Usually he would blame it on the fact that it was a new environment and he just wasn't use to sleeping here, but that was a lie. He hated it here. There was something wrong with this house. Or was there someone in this house? Sure the house was beautiful but he missed his old room, his warm and slightly too small room.

He looks down at the sink and turned the tap on. Dipping down he splashed a handful of water onto his face in attempt to bring himself back to reality. He had probably dreamt the whole thing anyway, just like the smashed picture frame from earlier in the day. He waited a moment before lifting his face back up to look at he mirror.

As soon as he does his whole body freezes when he's met with another pair of eyes. His heart beat increases and his eyes widen.

Slowly, he turns around to meet the face.

The figure smirks before giving him a wink.
"Boo!"

Renjun raced for the door and tried to unlock it but couldn't. He wanted to scream for help but his throat wouldn't seem to let him. In his frightened state he was frozen.

He was useless. Completely and utterly useless.

The figure disappeared and reappeared in front of Renjun in a matter of seconds. The boy squeaks and he squeezes his eyes closed, turning away as much as he could, his body still pressed against the bathroom door.

"P-please don't hurt m-me" he stutters, not knowing what else to say.

The ghostly figure laughs. "Does that mean I can't touch you?" He says and he brings his hand out to brush Renjun's cheek.

He squirms away and presses his body up against the door even more, desperately trying the handle.
He reaches for the lock again and this time succeeds. After throwing the door open he rushes over to his bedroom locking it behind him.

Slowly, he backed away from the door, not daring to take his eyes off of it.

Renjun kept going until his body hits something hard. Stopping dead, he can't decide whether to turn around or not.

"Mum-" his yell is cut off by a hand and his body is spun around to face the stranger. His eyes still held pure fear.

"I'm not going through hurt you, okay?" The ghost says only to earn a few muffled whimpers from the boy.

The ghost sighs. "If I remove my hand do you promise me you won't yell?" He asks, it takes a few moments but Renjun nods, tears now threatening to spill from his eyes.

Hesitantly, the stranger removes his hand.
"Help m-!" His hand was soon back at his mouth.

"Please don't yell" the ghost didn't know why he was saying this. His whole plan was to scare this boy away. But when he saw the sheer terror in his eyes, he instantly changed his mind. "I promise you I won't hurt you" he said staring into the boys tearful eyes. Slowly he removed his hand once more and lets the boy go.
