Renjun's eyes widen at the sound of the name. How the heck did Jisung even know the name Jeno? "W-What?" Renjun asks, laughing a little nervously, trying to get more of an explanation before he chose his answer.
"Your mum said she met one of your friends, Jeno" he shrugs "there's no one named Jeno here and I don't see you hang out with anyone else at school" he explains and Renjun mentally screams at this.
Of course, his mother had mentioned Jeno back at the restaurant, he had thought Jisung was too nervous to be listening but obviously he was wrong.Renjun looks around at the expectant gazes of the other boys "He-He's um..." he was trying his best to come up with something believable. He couldn't say it was a friend from China since Jisung already knew he was Korean. God damnit, his mind was blank. "He's-" a sudden idea comes to mind and he says it before he had time to think it over "-my boyfriend".
Oh wow. This was a new low even for him.
"You have a boyfriend!?" Jaemin asks pretty shocked, seeming to sober up a little after being hit with the news. "Since when? Why didn't you say anything?"
Right now would be a great time for Jaemin's mother to realise he had snuck out and drag his ass back home. Of course this was all wishful thinking and would never happen. Renjun's luck never worked like that.
The brunette laughs nervously, picking at a loose thread on his jeans "um, I didn't think it was important" he shrugs "he goes to a different school but I work at this, um, bookstore, his family own it" it was crazy how fast the lies were flowing out of him now. Crazy how easily you can lie when you need to.
"Bitch you just let Jaemin kiss you and said nothing" Donghyuck butts in but he looked more interested in starting arguments. And since this was a room of rather drunk teenage boys, that wouldn't be so difficult.
Renjun only shrugs, his eyes drifting over to look at Jaemin "it was dare, it's not like it was serious, he kissed everyon" he says, and most of the boys nod and agree, including Jaemin. "Okay, my turn" he reaches over and spins the bottle, watching as it lands on Yangyang.
The boy was quick to pour himself a shot and chug it back, not even grimacing at the strong taste. "Dare" he says before Renjun could even ask him to choose.
"Umm...I dare you to drink five shots,'one after the other" Renjun says almost evilly. Yangyang was already pretty drunk so he doubted he could get worse.
•••••
Renjun rolls over, groaning at the stiffness in his back caused from sleeping on the floor. He struggled to sit up but managed eventually, stretching out his aching joints. Glancing around the living room, he notices that everyone was passed out, Donghyuck was sprawled out on the couch, Mark laying face down on the floor beside it, Renjun assumes he had started off on the couch too but had been pushed off my Hyuck's spread limbs.
Yangyang was fast asleep on the coffee table, the empty vodka bottle hugged close to his chest. Jaemin lay close to Renjun, Jisung wrapped up in his arms. Hendery was laid in the doorway to the kitchen, a slice of half eaten pizza in hand. But there was no sign of Xiaojun.
Renjun shrugs, forcing himself to his feet, squeezing his eyes closed when the room starts spinning, and climbing over Jaemin and Jisung's sleeping forms, grabbing his shoes and jacket before making his way over to the door.
"You leaving?" A voice says making him jump in surprise.
Did Yangyang have a ghost in his house too?
His eyes scan around before he notices Xiaojun practically kicking Hendery out of the way as he exits the kitchen, steaming cup of coffee in hand. Renjun slaps a smile on his face and nods "um, yeah, does it make me seem like a jerk if I leave before everyone wakes up?" He asks and thankfully the elder only shakes his head.
"Nah, I don't blame you. It's probably best to leave before you see the hangovers in full swing" he laughs "I'll tell them you had an emergency"
Renjun smiles and thanks him before slipping his feet into his sneakers and rushing out of the door and walking up the street. The sun was high up in the sky and since Renjun's phone was dead he had no idea what time it was. By the looks of things it was early afternoon at least.
He felt kinda bad for leaving Jisung behind with a bunch of people he had just met, but after last night he seemed pretty comfortable with them even before the alcohol. Well he seemed comfortable with Jaemin at least which was good enough.
He still wasn't 100% familiar with the area so it took him a little longer than necessary to find his way back home. As soon as he walks into the house he explains to his mother that he had decided to spend the night at Yangyang's since they all 'lost track of time watching movies'. Although he told his mother this, he was still very conscious of the strong scent of alcohol on his clothing and breath. If his mother noticed, which no doubt she had, she didn't mention it.
Renjun climbs upstairs to his room, hesitating a moment before turning the doorknob and stepping inside.
