Aurora pov
Kayden's eyes quickly took a scan of me not in that way but in a way that's really reassuring.
It was the one thing I thought he could never be.
It was really sweet actually.
He gripped my hands and turned them to check for any injuries.
He looked so concerned, it was so cute.
No, Aurora.
He didn't deserve to be forgiven so easily.
I hid the smile that was trying to make its way to my face.
I almost failed but the pain wave that hit me helped me this time.
I fell to the floor.
The warrior behind me groaned and said "That's what you deserve, you bitch."
"No, I just came down here to see the world from your point of view. So this is how dogs see the world. Exciting."
I wanted to insult him back more but a loud growl stopped me.
Kayden moved towards the warrior but William stopped him.
"Stay here with her. I'll take care of him." William said it to him and Kayden begrudgingly nodded.
I almost wanted to stop William.
I didn't think I would be able to stay with Kayden after what happened.
"I'm going to enjoy this." William said as he walked out dragging the shit-head behind him.
He walked out leaving me crouching on the floor with Kayden standing very stiffly beside me.
"Are you going to stand there like a showpiece or are you going to help?" I said looking up.
He looked at me as if he was the one in pain and then slowly bent down to pick me up.
He effortlessly carried me in bridal style and lowered me onto the bed.
After so many days, he was finally gentle with me.
He took a piece of wet cloth and kept it on my head.
He took a new ice pack and luckily Will bought an entire cooler with him.
I mindlinked him a thank you.
Kayden pressed the ice pack against my neck and along my hand.
He didn't look at me.
He continued doing this.
I wanted to tell him that it was getting worse but I didn't have the heart to stop him.
He took my temperature and his eyes widened seeing the number.
"We need to take you to the pack doctor." He said, getting up.
"No. This is what happens to every female. It's normal."
We could have avoided this if you were able to get past whatever fears that were holding you back from being my mate.
But I didn't say my thoughts out loud.
"I need to get in the bath." I said, getting up but stumbled.
My legs were very shaky.
