Aurora pov
I was sitting on my bed with red puffy eyes when there was a knock at my door.
I was too distracted to notice it.
I kept thinking about Kayden.
Were we really never going to work out?
I thought the date was a turning point in our relationship and that we would be more close after that but clearly that didn't happen.
Suddenly I heard a loud crash and immediately sat up in my bed.
My eyes widened as I took in the scene in front of me.
My door was broken down and its fragments were scattered around.
There stood Kayden with a worried look on his face.
I saw a few drops of blood on the floor that's when I realised what he had just done.
He literally punched through my door.
What was wrong with him?
"Kayden?" I questioned.
"If you are okay, you answer the door. What were you doing that you didn't notice my knocks? I seriously thought you had fainted. Are you okay?"
He said coming closer to check for injuries.
I took a step back.
He saw that and a look of hurt flashed across his face before he moved back to give me space.
"Why are you here, Kayden?"
I was too exhausted at that point.
I couldn't continue the game we were playing.
He was sending mixed signals.
"I wanted to give you the answers that you seek. I realised that I have been closed off but that's because all I've known my entire life."
He took a deep breath before he continued.
" I never had anyone who was bothered about me, you know, I never had anyone who asked me how I was feeling. You asking me all those things just caught me off guard?"
I could see from his body language that he was tensed and he was practically shaking.
That was hard for him to accept.
I signalled him to sit on the bed.
He followed and sat at the very edge of the bed.
I felt a pang of hurt in my heart seeing that he chose to sit so far but I knew that he was just respecting my boundaries.
"Kayden, I don't know what to say. You have to realise that I just feel like you keep me at an arm's distance and you saying that you don't want a mate every chance you get really messed with my head. Please, I need to know the reason why you feel that way." My voice became shaky.
"I know and I'm here to tell you why." His voice showed me just how long he had suppressed this feeling.
"As I told you, my father died when I was four. But the reason behind it was that my mom.... God I have not called her mom in so long." He was hesitating to continue.
