Akia packed his things from his temporary room at his aunt's house. He finally gets to go home today, and that could only mean that his parents have settled everything out. His parents are nice individuals. Akia grew up never lacking a thing. His parents never really argued in front of him and tried their best to not suck their son up into their affairs. It's a calming household.

Akia got in his car and started making his way home. It's not too long of a drive—only about thirty minutes.

When Akia got to the big house, he raised an eyebrow at the other car accompanying his parents. It's a car he has never seen before. He shook it off and pulled out his key to unlock the door. He has been gone for a month. He talked to his parents on the phone occasionally, but not much. He understood that they're working through their problems after being married for damn near 19 years.

Before Akia could start to unlock the door, it swung open. "AKI, YOU'RE HOME!" His mother yelled, embracing him in a tight hug. Akia laughed and hugged his mother back.

"Mom, you told me to come home today; why are you acting so surprised?" He laughed in her embrace.

His mother pulled him into the house and ignored his question. That's when his other mother came from the kitchen with only a small smile on her face. It was always like that; one of them was more affectionate than the other. It didn't bother him, though, the two balanced each other out. If anything, Khalan kind of reminded him of his second mom a bit—just a lot more mean.

"Hey Akia, how you been?" She asked. Akia smiled back. "I've been fine; I wasn't over at Aunty's house much, mostly at Tyra's."

"Why?" They both frowned at the mention of his girlfriend. They never liked her. They met her twice, and both times they just couldn't understand what he saw in that girl. "Aunty house wasn't for me, and I was mostly talking to her older brother; I think he's nice, and I like him." He was excited to talk about Khalan.

Both his mothers hummed and looked at each other because, if they recalled correctly, Tyra had expressed how much she hated the brother that she was living with. She said he was rude, annoying, and so on and so on.

"What his name?"

"His name is Khalan; we're nothing alike really, but I think he likes me a bit too because he lets me in his room," he rambled on and on. The second mother sighed heavily, waiting for Akia to stop talking, and he noticed, so he did. His mother was an addition to the people who just couldn't seem to stand when Akia started to ramble though she tolerated it as a mother.

"I'm sorry," he muttered before going to the steps before he was stopped. "Akia, we have to tell you something, and there's someone here to see you." His jolly mother, his biological mother, mumbled with a soft, unsettling tone.

"Yes?"

"Uhm, do you want to sit down?" They offered. Akia looked over to the couch, which nobody is allowed to sit on because it's expensive and mostly there for decorations. Akia slowly walked to the couch and plopped down, looking confused between his mothers. Akia, as you know, I conceived you using a sperm donor, yeah?" His mother spoke slowly. Akia nodded his head, confused as to why they were explaining this again.

"I know, mom."

"And you know that you met your father...? When you were young, he used to visit; you just don't remember."

Akia hummed and nodded his head.

"It's been brought to my attention that...wait, I haven't seen your father in 15 years, okay?" She clarified back tracking a bit. This time Akia didn't do anything but listen. "It has come to my attention that Shayla has seen your father multiple times between the last ten years, and I didn't know." Her eyes started to tear up. His other mother, Shayla, looked away, guilty, as her wife started to break down. They weren't going to tell Akia anything, but they decided not to keep him in the dark.
