Mercedes and Clint were still riding on the high of finding out they were going to have a baby together. Clint and Natasha were always watching over Mercedes, making sure that she wasn't doing anything that could hurt her or the baby. They wouldn't let her do too much to strain herself, and if she ever started stressing over something, Natasha or Clint would make sure she stopped worrying or stressing over whatever it was.

Clint and Natasha were given a mission together, that would take a week of them being away from Mercedes. With the two not being around, Mercedes tried to stay calm and not worry about them. She promised to not do too much, but she was the kind of girl that never liked sitting still. The girl always wanted to be doing something or working on something.

Anyhow, Clint and Natasha were a bit worried about Mercedes with them being away from her. Clint was more worried than Natasha, but Clint was in a relationship with her, and Natasha was simply her best friend. Natasha was like a sister to her, and Clint knew Natasha knew the girl well, but he couldn't stop himself from worrying.

As Clint and Natasha entered the building where they were supposed to grab things Fury wanted, Clint felt a cold chill run down his spine. It wasn't a cold chill from the air or wind, it was one that told him something wasn't right. He truly became worried, but he wasn't sure what was going to happen. He just had to make sure he protected himself and Natasha.

Not even a moment later, agents ran out and began attacking Clint and Natasha. The two were ready though, so they were able to handle the agents easily. They ran through the building, trying to get to the room that held the things Fury wanted. When they finally found the room, the two split up and began to search for and grab the things they needed to get.

When Clint grabbed the two flashdrives he found near a computer, and he accidentally hit the computer mouse. The screen turned on, and he looked over at it. His heart felt like it fell into his stomach, when he seen Mercedes picture and information pulled up on the screen. As he was looking at the stuff on the screen, reading the information, an agent snuck up behind him and attacked him.

Clint was thrown to the ground, and a gun was pointed at him. His bow was out of reach, but he knew Natasha was close by. She would save him before he was killed by the agent. His heart beat quickened anyway, knowing he was in danger, as was his girl.

"Mr Barton, it's a surprise to see you," the agent taunted,"I'd think you'd be with your pregnant girlfriend, considering soon she will be gone. Mercedes Stark, the genius daughter of Tony Stark, will be a part of HYDRA in no time, and your baby will be gone forever." He said, and Clint felt his blood run cold.

A second later, Natasha shot the agent, and the agent fell beside Clint. Natasha quickly went over to the computer and deleted all the files and hidden information the group had on Mercedes. Once everything was deleted, the two grabbed all the paper files on Mercedes,  before they quickly ran from the building.

Clint and Natasha went straight to the vehicle they had driven. They didn't even bother checking in with Fury. They were angry with HYDRA, but they were also angry with Fury. He knew almost all of the information HYDRA had, and he kept this from them. If he knew, and they were pretty sure he did, he kept it all to himself.

"What are we going to do?" Clint asked, looking over to Natasha,"They're after her, Nat, and I don't know what I can do to protect her from everything all the time." He said, causing the woman to sigh.

"First, we're going to talk to Fury and see what he knows and why he kept it from us," Natasha replied,"then we'll figure out what to do to protect Mercedes." She added, and he nodded.

The two were quiet for some time, and Clint had scenarios running through his head constantly. He didn't know what to do, but he was becoming more and more worried and stressed out by the second. Each scenario made him want to scream and take out every agent he could find to protect his girl and their child.

"What about your farmhouse?" Natasha blurted out, causing Clint to look over at her.

"What?" He questioned, unsure of what she meant.

"Your family farmhouse," She sighed,"Nobody has lived there for years, and I think it'd be the best place for her. It'd be a house to raise the baby, and you two would have a permanent residence." She said, making Clint nod slightly to himself.

"Fury will have to keep it to himself. The farmhouse can not go on any paper or file that anyone can find. It's the only way we can be certain that nothing will happen to Mercedes or the baby." Clint stated, and Natasha agreed almost instantly.

"This will stay between us. We won't tell anyone else about the farmhouse. You, Mercy, and the baby will be the safest people in the world." She replied, causing a smile to slowly appear on Clint's face.

Mercedes didn't know that there was a threat for her safety or the baby's. If she knew, she'd definitely be scared. Natasha and Clint weren't sure if telling Mercedes was a good idea, but not telling her wasn't a great idea either. If she found out on her own, she'd be very angry with them.

Clint had to do anything to protect his family, even if that meant living in a place he didn't think he'd see again. Technically, he owned the place, he just lived in an apartment near S.H.I.E.L.D headquarters. He wasn't a fan of his childhood, but the home was worth keeping. He just knew he'd have a lot of work to do to make it a home to raise a family...
