Mercedes had watched what had happened on the news. She seen the crazy things going on in New York, and she was glad she and Bean were far away. She was terrified for everyone out there. She had also almost called and scolded her father for going up into wherever the aliens came out of to get rid of a bomb, but she chose against it. She figured Pepper would chew him up more than enough for the both of them.

She did send a link of the video to Pepper though, expressing her anger, so Pepper would relay the message to her father for her. She figured Pepper would make him feel even a little scared for making her and Mercedes mad. Pepper was a nice woman, but she could scare a grown man when she wanted to, no matter their size or who they were.

Anyhow, hours later, she recieved a call from Clint, that he was on his way home. He promised to explain everything to her, since he knew she was worried sick about him. Natasha had told him that Mercedes was very worried, and that she always sound so scared and sad on the phone when talking about him and what could potentially happen.

It was near dinner time when Clint had finally arrived home. Mercedes was just setting out her ingredients when she seen his vehicle pull up outside. She quickly looked back and seen that Bean was occupied with Moxley, before she set the ingredients down and quickly ran to the door. She opened the door, ran outside, and wrapped her arms tightly around Clint.

Clint held her close, as he inhaled her scent and simply took in the feeling of her body in his arms again. He had missed her and Bean so much. He was so scared that he'd lose them, especially when Loki had taken over his mind. Somehow, he had kept his fiancé and son a secret from the man, even though it was near impossible. It just seemed that even under mind control, his mind wouldn't let him put his family in danger.

"I missed you so much." Mercedes murmured, and Clint kissed the top of her head.

"I missed you, too." He replied, squeezing her slightly.

The two let go of each other, and headed into the house. Mercedes watched as Clint walked into the living room where his son and Moxley. The moment that Bean's eyes landed on his dad, he screamed "Dada!" and jumped up from the floor. Clint picked him up and hugged him close.

Moxley quickly began to show affection to Clint, and Clint was more than happy to pet the dog and thank him for taking care of their family. Clint soon sat down on the couch, and Moxley and Bean stayed with him. Mercedes simply started on dinner, after snapping a couple pictures of them.

As she waited for the fries to cook in the air fryer, she sent a picture of Moxley, Bean, and Clint to Natasha. She then added a text of, thank you for getting him back to us. She knew Natasha would appreciate the text and picture.

That night, Bean only wanted Clint to put him to sleep, but Mercedes understood. He hadn't seen his father in days, and he really missed him. Moxley stayed in the room with them, and even though he really missed Clint, he stayed with Bean once Bean was asleep. Moxley was truly a great dog, and his family really loved him.

After his shower, Clint laid in bed next to his fiancé. He pulled her into his side and held her close. He had missed her so much, and he had been terrified that something would happen to her. Loki had threatened Natasha, so he knew that if Loki had known anymore, he would've threatened his family. Clint couldn't bear the loss of his family, they were all he had.

Mercedes was his forever, and he knew that. He knew that if he lost her, he would lose himself. She was his everything, just as much as he was hers. They loved each other more than anything in the world, and to prove how much they loved each other, there was a little boy in the other room made from their true love for each other.

"How did he get control of your mind?" Mercedes asked, causing Clint to sigh.

"His scepter. He touched it to my chest, and that's all I remember really, until Natasha hit me in the head." He replied, making the woman frown.

"At least you're back home. I can keep you safe here." She said, making him hug her tighter and kiss her cheek.

"I love you, Mercy," Clint murmured,"The whole time I was there, all I could do was worry about you and Bean and Mox." He admitted, and she snuggled closer to him.

"I was really worried about you, too," She replied,"I barely slept after Tasha called me and told me you were taken. I just couldn't handle it. It frightened the hell out of me."

"I won't let that happen again. I'm not putting myself in that kind of danger, not knowing I'll ever come home to you guys." He said, making her sigh.

"This is your job, your life. You shouldn't give that up for us." She replied, making him frown.

"You guys are my life, and I'd quit anything if that meant being here with you." He stated, pulling her into a kiss.

The wounds were still fresh, and he was terrified to lose them. He kept his arms securely around Mercedes the entire night. He barely slept a wink, and when he did, he had nightmares. He couldn't sleep, but knowing that his fiancé, his son, and their dog were safe, that made him feel a little less worried. He just didn't know how much more he could take before he just couldn't handle the life of an agent anymore...
