Chapter 10-Family Day out

The rest of the night rolled on and by the time Dominic got home he went straight to his bedroom and fell asleep. 

(5 am)

Peter walks into the kitchen to get a glass of milk as he is in desperate need for a drink only to find that Katie and Georgie are already up watching a video on a laptop and smiling. "What's so important at five in the morning" Peter asks hoping to get there attention however he was unsuccessful. Taking the laptop off them brought their attention to him. "Okay today is Family day which means no technology, no work and lots of talking to your family. "Now hand me your phones and head to your rooms to get ready for today it's going to be a really good day." Peter said with a straight face.  

Katie and Lou rentered the kitchen to find Peter and Lou sitting their waiting for them. "Ahh good girls your here what activity should we do today?" Lou asked with a warm smile on her face. "Does it matter" Katie moaned. "Hey no attitude today young lady" Peter stated giving her a serious look. "come on there must be something the two of you have wanted to do for a while now" Lou said. "Well there is something that we said we will do as a family one day" Katie said looking directly at georgie. "Oh yeah the zoo" Georgie responded. "In calgary that sounds like a solid plan lets do it" Peter said with a smile. Walking off to there respective bedrooms peter quickly takes Lou aside. Sharing a passionate kiss the two smile. "Oh don't tell Georgie but I did invite Dominic and he said he will meet us there" Peter whispered. "Why did you do that" Lou whispered back. "Well he's a part of the family now" Peter replied before kissing Lou again and then grabbing the car keys from the coffee table. "Right all our stuff that we need is packed let's all have some breakfast and we will leave at Eight" Peter said sitting down at the table. 

Meanwhile over at the heart family ranch Dominic sat in his bedroom doodling on a drawing pad. "Nope that's not the right way to do it" he stated to himself. Thud Thud, "Hey Dominic have you got a second there's something I want to talk to you about." Skye said as she stood halfway through the doorway. "Sure Skye come on in what's up" Dominic said as he quickly put away his drawing pad. "Well this is kinda hard for me to talk about but we tell each other everything so here goes, I think I like girls in a romantic way." Skye said trying to avoid eye contact. "Oh I know actually I've known for awhile but i'm glad you figured it out" Dominic laughed. "Wait what" Skye responded shocked. "Skye you use to check out Georgie all the time and a lot of the girls at school." Dominic responded comforting Skye in a brotherly hug. Skye smiled, "Thank you for understanding" Skye said with a big smile on her face. "Are you gonna be okay because i've got to go meet Georgie and her family at the zoo?" Dominic asked. "Yes go and have fun" Skye replied as she left Dominic's bedroom. 

Dancing down the stairs Dominic entered the kitchen where his mom and dad were chilling eating their breakfast of shredded wheat. "Good morning, Sorry can't stay to talk i've got a date " Dominic said with glee. Leaving the house shutting the door Dominic looked to the sky admiring the beautiful clear country sky. Walking towards his car. Pulling firmly on the door handle he opened the door and got into his vehicle switching the radio on. Smiling he began to pull out of the driveway and headed in the direction of calgary.

(8am)

The girls hopped into the car at the same time as Lou and peter as they headed off towards calgary as well meanwhile at Heartland a new horse trailer was pulling up to the place. Amy watched it with a smile. "Ahh you must be the famous Amy Fleming, The Names Edward Jones, I have a issue with my horse that I think you will be able to help me with." Edward said.  "I can do my best, what's the issue" Amy asked. It's probably best if I just show you" Edward said opening the trailer doors to reveal a scared mustang. "He is extremely skittish at everything i'm hoping you can help him ease back to life. I'm willing to pay you for any progress you can make. Edward said. I just really want him to be okay. "I will try my best" Amy responded with a smile. "Thank you" Edward said as he handed Amy the reigns and shut the trailer door. Walking back to his truck he gave her one last farewell wave before driving off. Taking the horse into the round pen Amy sat and studied its movements like a hawk. 

(8:50am) 

Dominic pulled in too the north car park and sat in his car for ten minutes. Looking down at his notebook he still was struggling with his little dilema and was about to get angry when he saw Lou's car pull up in a parking space opposite him. Taking in a deep breath Dominic smiled in his rear view mirror as he watched Georgie exit the car. His heart began to race with a little skip in its beat. "One day soon that much I do know" Dominic said as he got out of his car. Peter, Lou it's a pleasure to see you again" Dominic said as he approached them. "Dom what are you doing here" Georgie asked as she gripped him for a tight hug. "I was invited by Peter" Dominic responded. Taking a second to get their bearings the group began walking to the entrance. Lou and Peter covered the cost of Georgie and Katie and Dominic covered his own entrance. Looking over the map Dominic was shocked at how big the zoo was.

"Okay so where do we begin" Peter said. "Well couldn't we all just go our own ways and then meet up at the restaurant in the middle say about lunch time." Katie said. "If that is what you all to do then sure" Lou said showing her trust in everyone. Lou Peter and Katie headed off in one direction as Dominic and Georgie walked in the other direction.

Peter and Lou arrive at the restaurant just as they see Dominic and Georgie approach. Finding a seat they sit down and await the food to be taken out of Lou's bag as she packed for everyone including Dominic. "So in future what do you think life will be like" Dominic asked. "The same waking up and taking care of chores and horses." Katie said. "I hope things are a little different" Georgie said. "I'm certain they will be with you" Peter said looking between Georgie and Dominic. Dominic got a worried look on his face before he quickly dismissed it hoping Georgie didn't see.

The group were at the lions watched them embrace sun like it was a blessing when Georgie took Dominic's hands in hers and moved real close. "This day has been amazing but I need to know if we were together in ten years would it still be me and you or would it be a family" Georgie asked. Surprised by the sudden question. "Uhh..I..wow okay I need a minute" Dominic responded as he took a second and welcomed the fresh air into his lungs. "Okay are you asking me if we would have kids in the future providing we are together?" Dominic questioned. "Yes I am" Georgie responded. Well that's a question I was not expecting but yes we would be a family." Dominic replied, the two kissed one another and smiled as a lion roared at the glass like it was agreeing with their declaration of intimacy.   

Meanwhile at Heartland, Amy was watching the mustangs behavior as it raced around and around the round pen. A dark steel car drove past and parked in the driveway. Lisa left the car and approached Amy, "Hey don't suppose Dominic is around is he i've already tried his house and his parents said he might be here." Lisa said. "I believe his at the calgary zoo with Lou and the rest why do you need him." Amy replied. "The mayor of Hudson wants a meeting with him about something that's all I know i'm going go say hi to Jack and then be on my way nice to see you Amy" Lisa said shrugging her shoulders and walking towards the house. "Yeah see ya. Now back to you how can I help you why is adjusting too difficult for you" Amy said as she suddenly noticed that whenever the stallion stopped moving it's always lifting his back leg as if in pain. Retrieving her phone from her pocket Amy called Ty and got him to come straight away to help.
