Chapter 12-The Meeting, The Date and The Fire

"Ahhh Mr Heart so glad you could make it here today" Mayor Bethany White said with a warm and and beautiful smile. "It's my pleasure" Dominic responded. "Okay so the reason i wanted to have a meeting with you is i was hoping you would be able to help boost the popularity of our little town and encourage more people to invest in music. I know you started in school and I am willing to lend some funds and a location for you to host this contest." Bethany said. "Ahhh Madam mayor i actually have had a better idea if you would allow me to elaborate" Dominic said. "By all mean mr heart please continue" Bethany replied. "Of course what if it was actually a show called Echo we can have judges and certain rules and at the end whoever wins will get a two year record deal with me. It can be broadcast across a lot of family tv channels and it would really help young people and tourism for this country. We can even on certain situations let the public have a vote. I can handle getting the judges and everything if you would help with the funds but of course the choice is yours." Dominic said. Bethany sat there deep in thought picturing everything that Dominic had just said. "Okay Mr Heart i'm in let's do it you will have to give me a couple of weeks to secure the funds and all" Bethany said. "Fair enough, we'll be in touch" Dominic said as he gave her a strong handshake and left her office with a smile. 

Sitting and pondering was all Skye could do as she waited for her date to arrive she had just about given up hope and then The most beautiful girl with bright blue hair and pale pink lipstick approached her table. "HI i'm Abi I may be completely out of order here but I think your cute and was wondering if maybe I could join you for a drink." Abigail said. "Yes. I mean of course that would be amazing" Skye chuckled as she became lost in Abigails eyes. "You know I can see you staring right" Abigail stated. "I uhhhh.." Skye stuttered. Abigail leant closer to Skye and pressed her lips firmly against hers. the two broke apart and both were blushing so red you could mistake them for tomatoes you guys are adorable a man said in a really disgusting way. "Ahh hell no" Abigail said standing up and delivering a punch to his face. People became shocked but there sceney quickly changed as the pair run out of the restaurant and laughed.

Meanwhile at Heartland Jack and Lisa were listening to a old record when suddenly jack got the urge to hold lisa tight and start dancing around the living room. "look at their love it's just so beautiful" Amy said to georgie as they both watched from the window trying not to disturb the couple. "Yeah they are, i'm going to be like them one day I hope" Georgie said with a big smile. "Look at your smile it will happen if you want it to" Amy said trying to avoid being stuck in a awkward situation. Suddenly a lot of racket was heard from the barn then a huge blaze came roaring as the horses ran out as fast as they could. Amy ran. "Jack quick the barn" Georgie yelled chasing after Amy. Jack followed as did Lisa "are there any horses still in there" Jack asked. "I can't tell" Amy said trying to get a closer look. 

Dominic was driving up to heartland when he saw the fire he stepped on it arriving to where everyone is standing he quickly got out of his car and ran to see what was happening. "woah are you guys okay is anyone trapped in there. "We don't think so" Jack said when suddenly they heard a very distinct neigh. "It's Spartan" Amy said. Without even think she raced into the Barn to try and save her horse, "Amy" Jack yelled. "Fire departments on there way now" Lou said as she ran over. "Amy" Jack yelled Again. "Grandpa where's Amy" Lou asked. "Amy, you okay" Jack yelled once more. Lou began to tear up as amy didn't respond and the fire expanded. Watching the roaring flames greet and welcome the oxygen like a old family friend the family felt genuine powerless, However Instead of waiting around in fear and shock Dominic took off his shirt and tied it around his head as a temporary face mask before charging into the barn. 

"Amy where are you" Dominic shouted. looking around it was like he was in a city of fire every crack was like a voice yelling at him. "Amy" he yelled once again as he noticed her on the floor by Spartan's stool. Thinking as quick as possible he let spartan out. Listening to her heartbeat, he decided to hold her in his arms and head for the exit but just before he could reach it, pillars fell engulfing themselves in flames. The crackles became more consistent, more ferocious and more deadly as they made there way up towards the loft. "Jack" Dominic called from the window. "Yeah" Dominic could feel the room getting warmer so quickly using all the sheets and quilts on the bed he made a rope tying to the chair before throwing it out the window. "I'm going to lower her down" He said as he began to lower Amy down to jack's arms. She reached him just as the flames broke through the door and welcomed the chair as part of it's pack. They all watched as in shock as they couldn't see a way out. Proceeding to climb out of the window Dominic gripped the wood as he swung his body jumping from one bit of wood to another and then to to the ground. 

The fire department arrived alongside a Ambulance and they rushed over to put out the fire. Amy was loaded into the Ambulance and Jack went with her to the hospital. Georgie was stunned and wasn't speaking to anyone. Dominic sat outside on the decking in silence staring at the barn. Lou stepped out of the house to see Dominic sitting there still. "Hey are you okay" Lou asked noticing his gaze not leaving the barn. Sitting next to him she placed a arm around him as tears began to fall from his eyes. "Hey it's okay Amy's okay" Lou said however her efforts to comfort him were in vain as he didn't and couldn't stop.
