Turning the ever so familiar corners I find myself back at Kyle's. Tripping up the stairs to the door I pound on it, hoping someone will answer. After about the fifth try it hits me, it's Wednesday. He is at school. Groaning in defeat I slide down at stay on the ground, what to do now. My stuff is in his room and my backpack is at home, ugh, why.
Looking at my phone I see the three numbers, 1:49, one hour left till he comes back. What to do in one hour. Go home? Go to the mall? Go back to Jordan's? Face palming at my stupidity I stand up and start to walk home, though I know what will await me there. I am willing to take that risk, even though no one cares about my well being.
Standing up I start walking back to the bus stop, looking around I cross the road and keep going straight. What will she do when I get home? Will she tell my dad? Will he be mad too? What about Nyle? What will all of them do.. A silent tear goes down my cheek, one of confusion and pain. A car horn snaps me out of my sorrow for that few seconds and makes me jump to the side. The driver flips me off and I look down at the ground, well sorry..
Stepping on to the property I hear a loud, shattering crash of glass come from inside then not to short after booming voices. My instinct was to run away but, I went against it and entered the house. Before my eyes there was glass everywhere in the kitchen, plates and cups were displayed on the ground as if they were a museum. The running noise came closer and closer to me, I see my dads frightened face. His eyes were blood shot and a clean cut was below them.
"Dad?" I whisper confused, he comes up to me and pushes me to the couch.
"Did you tell your mother?!" he yells in rage. I shake my head at his question, I didn't tell her..then who did? I was the only one who heard and saw anything and I didn't tell anyone either.
"N-no! I didn't tell anyone!" I say as his grip only got tighter on me. Him and Riley sure have strong grips..
"How do I know your not lying?!" he screams at me, I can hear the pain in his voice but he deserved it. Especially since he cheated on her with someone younger, guess that marriage vowel didn't last..
"Because I was the only one around when you and that other woman were home! And I am very disgusted with you!" I say hissing back at him, his face when from one of anger to hurt. The grip around me loosened and he stood up and pointed upstairs to my room.
"Go." he says sternly to me.
"Gladly." I say back at him, heading up to my room I close the door and head to my television. Turning it on along with the Wii I start to play Super Mario Galaxy, stress and more stress building up in me. Video games was one way to get that out.
Glancing over at the clock it reads 3:14, Kyle should be home now.. Pulling out my phone I send him a quick text.
Meet up at your house? If you don't mind...
Clicking it off I pause the game and listen for a few seconds. It's dead silent, raising my eyebrow I go downstairs and look around. My dad is no where to be found, odd. Same with my mom, but where would she go too? Going through the kitchen I see the couch moved over ten feet, gliding over to the couch my mom lays there.
"Mom..?" I say confused, here back was too me but her position meant one of defeat and of distress. Coming to the front of the couch I see three cans of beer, sadness comes over me. Yes I know she doesn't treat me well but, she takes it out on herself by drinking, is that why she was like that when she was over at Kyle's?
Grabbing a blanket I drape it over her figure and let her sleep, a note was left on the coffee table. Picking it up I read my fathers handwriting, 'I am moving in with Amanda, I will send you money when I can..' my throat goes tight, he's moving in with her? Why.. I put it back down and hope that this is all a bad dream. I'm not losing both my parents, not now.
A vibration goes off in my pocket pulling out my phone I see Kyle's text back.
Okay, you can come over whenever you can..
