Phil POV
I woke up to an arm wrapped tightly around my waist. At first I was confused as to who it belonged to, but soon came to my senses. Of course it was Dan's arm.

Last night was hazy, but I remember the end of it clearly. It's hard to forget actually confessing your feelings to someone. And then returning the feelings! That's something someone never forgets. But I told him we couldn't. It hurt me to say it, but we couldn't. Vampires and humans could never work, they're basically at war right now. Plus, the house would never let it happen. If I told Louise or Joe they would probably freak out.

So we decided on staying friends, but kissing friends. It sounds childish, but it's better than nothing. I loved the taste of Dan on my lips, and I want more of him, but I can only kiss him for now. Even if it's torture, it's the only thing that works.

I sighed, realizing that I had to get up and go help Joe with beds. Humans tend to react badly to excessive amounts of alcohol, so I'll let Dan stay here and sleep. I lifted Dan's arm from around me carefully and set it on the mattress. He stirred a little, but didn't wake. I stood up slowly and pulled on my pants that were on the floor.

When did I take off my pants? It must've been when we were abut to go to sleep, and it was the only thing I could take off apparently because all of the rest of my clothes were still on.

"Phil," Dan mumbled, and I turned around quickly. I was scared that I woke him up at first, but he was still sleeping. I smiled, relishing in the fact that he just said my name in his sleep. I tiptoed over to him and leaned down. Carefully, I placed a light kiss on his forehead. When I pulled away, he was smiling softly, and I had to keep myself from giggling like an idiot.

"Phil, did you and Dan get a mattress yesterday?" Was the first thing I heard as I walked upstairs and closed the door.

"Oh, no, Dan and I actually got kicked out of the mattress store yesterday," I explained sheepishly. Joe raised an eyebrow, but I ignored his silent question. It would give them the wrong idea.

Well, not necessarily wrong, but they weren't going to know about that.

Troye came around the corner with a smirk on his face. "Can I talk to you?"

I nodded hesitantly, but followed him as he walked away. He led me into the main-floor bathroom, closed the door softly and locked it.

"What's the matter?" I questioned timidly. I sat down on the edge of the bathtub as he walked toward me. Did he hear the conversation between me and Dan?

"So, 'your man,'" he started with the same cocky smirk on his face. "What was that about?"

"Are you referencing last night?" I asked carefully.

"Are you saying that you have referred to Dan as 'your man' more than once?" He chuckled.

I felt my face heat up slightly. "No, I was just making-- what do you want?"

"Is there something between you and the human that I should know about?" Troye inquired softly, leaning forward. "I won't tell anyone else."

"No, we're just friends," I answered honestly.

He looked at me quizzically. "Just friends? Are you sure?"

I nodded fervently. I wasn't lying. We were just friends, but we were just friends with some benefits. We weren't dating, or having sex, or calling it a relationship. We were just friends.

"Just be careful, okay?" He warned, his voice still low. "I know that something has to be going on with you two, but I don't know what. You can't let the rest of the house know, though."
