Dan POV
Several officers filed into the "watching room," as many call it. They all took seats in front of the glass to watch the vampires. The girl, who I now know is Zoe due to one of the other officers speaking about her, was just staring at the floor, unmoving. Phil, on the other hand, looked very confused.

"Wait, am I gonna be questioned?" He called to the door. I looked around at the officers to see what there reaction would be, but no one moved. He turned toward the mirror and knocked twice. "Hello? Listen, I know you can hear me," he said, starting to sound agitated. The older looking officer leaned forward to the microphone sitting in front of him.

He cleared his throat, then hit the button. "Sit down, vampire," he said clearly. Both Phil and Zoe looked around, showing that the words filled both rooms. Zoe sat down immediately, but Phil hesitated, looking at the chair. Then he turned back to the mirror.

"Kay, but my name is Phil," he called, and sat down in his chair gracefully. I rolled my eyes, exasperated. No matter how hard he tried, he wasn't going to get anyone to call him Phil. I glanced sideways at Caspar, who looked slightly guilty, shifting in his chair awkwardly and looking around the room at the other vampires. I looked back to Phil, chewing on my lip. He looked lost in thought about something, staring off at nothing.

He stood up very suddenly, making me jump slightly. He kept glancing over at the glass like he was waiting for us to do something. He stopped pacing, and I saw something spark in his eyes. It was brief, but it was definitely there. He was going to do something.

He walked over to the lamp in the corner of the room, and I leaned forward, trying to catch every movement. Everyone else was watching Zoe shuffle her feet in her chair, not paying attention to Phil.

"What's he doing?" Caspar asked, shocking me. So he was watching Phil too.

"He's got something planned, he's trying to get our attention," I answered, louder than I wanted. Several of the officers looked at me, confused.

The one in front of the speaker asked, "how do you know?"

I pointed to Phil, and they all turned right as he twisted the lightbulb out of the socket, making the room go black.

Everyone started to rise out of their chairs, getting ready to go to the door.

"Stop!" I shouted, making everyone halt and look at me. "That's what he wants you to do," I explained, sitting back in my seat. The officers looked back at the darkened room.

"So what do we do?" A woman in the back asked. The man in front of the microphone looked at me expectantly.

"I guess we wait and see what he does," I answered, shrugging.

Suddenly, the sound of glass exploding filled our ears, making us all jump. The lightbulb crumpled against the glass and fell, making a crunching noise.

"Somebody go in there with a flashlight," the speaker man said, "anybody. We have to be able to see him," he begged. Nobody would volunteer. They all glanced around, unmoving.

I sighed and stood up, realizing that I knew he wouldn't hurt me, or anybody that walked in there, but nobody would believe that. I grabbed a flashlight that was sitting on the table in front of us, and opened the door, turning on the light as I entered.

"Thank you, I was starting to get a little lonely in here," he whined, squinting at me. I knew he couldn't see my face because of the light, so I didn't care.

I watched him for a couple seconds, just to make sure he wouldn't attack me. Then, I moved to the center of the room, just in front of the mirror, and sat down, keeping the light on him the entire time.
