Defence Against the Dark Arts was by far the most ridiculous class Scarlett had ever attended. Scarlett hoped Quirrell would be fairly decent at his job, given all the work he'd done, but ironically, he turned out to be the most cowardly man in history who seemed to be afraid of his own shadow. Much to her relief, Transfiguration, Charms, Herbology, and Astronomy were taught by competent Professors, who not only excelled at their job but also never failed to be encouraging and supportive.

As Scarlett rubbed off sleep from her eyes, she realised that their room was awfully quiet and that Phoenix was not yelling at her to hurry up and get dressed. She turned around to Phoenix's side and frowned at the sight of her frantically scribbling away.

"What the devil are you doing?" she demanded, looking over at the clock. It was around quarter to seven.

"Trying to complete and send over this damned Mathematics assignment. I've been avoiding this for over a month. I thought Mum had forgotten about it, but apparently not," Phoenix grumbled, as she stared at the numbers. Elena and Henry had insisted that they wanted her to continue her regular Muggle education, saying that they didn't want to see their daughter without at least completing her Secondary Education.

Scarlett groaned and fell back on her bed, "Have you slept at all?

Phoenix shook her head no. They had their first Astronomy class yesterday, and by the time they made their way back to their room, it was almost two in the morning. Having tossed and turned enough in her sleep, Phoenix had decided that there was no way she would fall asleep and decided to complete her Muggle subject's assignments. She wanted to finish them as soon as she could so that she didn't have to look at them for at least a couple of months.

"What do we have today?" Phoenix asked as she tucked away her Mathematics textbooks. Scarlett shuddered at the sheer force with which Phoenix had slammed the drawer shut.

"Double Potions," Scarlett replied, as she glanced at her schedule. What a way to end their first week Scarlett thought as she rolled out of bed. "I'll be back in a jiffy," she added, as she rushed to the loo. She had no intention of getting on Phoenix's nerves today.

Daphne was waiting in the common room for Scarlett and Phoenix when she saw Blaise and Draco sitting by the fireplace. She waved at the pair, "Good morning, Daff," Blaise greeted as she sat beside Draco.

"Where's Thing 1 and Thing 2?"

Draco rolled his eyes, "At breakfast."

Daphne laughed, "Hey, at least they save a seat for us."

"That is true," Blaise agreed.

"We were thinking of going to the Quidditch Pitch after classes today, you game?" Blaise asked as Draco looked at her questioningly.

"You play Quidditch?"

Daphne scoffed, "Like Mother would ever allow me. But Tori loves Quidditch, so we'd sneak out whenever Mother wasn't home."

"Who's Tori?"

"Astoria, she's, my sister. She's two years younger than me."

Draco nodded, "You could still join us if you want. I want to get some practice before the flying lessons. Who knows how old those wonky brooms are," he added rolling his eyes.

"I don't understand why can't we get our own brooms, it's not like we don't have any flying lessons in the first year," he continued, "Father says it's all rubbish, of course. He said if it were up to him, I'd be playing for the Slytherin Quidditch team this very year."

"Not if I beat you to it," rang Scarlett's voice as she walked in holding Phoenix's arm.

Blaise laughed, "You're like the Bloody Mary of Quidditch."
