"We need to hurry up, else we'll miss breakfast," Gregory Goyle complained, frowning at the sight of a few second years leaving the common room.

"Why don't you go on with Nott and Crabbe? We'll join you," Blaise advised, as he nudged Draco, who nodded in response. "Okay, we'll save you a seat!" Goyle exclaimed as he ran out of the room, followed by Crabbe and Nott who looked relieved to get away from the pair.

"It's almost 7:30, what's taking them so long?" Blaise wondered as he paced in front of the fireplace, waiting for Scarlett and Phoenix. Draco shrugged, "Maybe they're still asleep."

"Hey, Parkinson! Have you seen Scar and Nix?" Blaise questioned, as he spotted Pansy. Pansy let out a shrill laughter before replying, "Does it look like I care?"

Blaise sighed, "Never mind, forget I asked."

"Gladly," she huffed, before storming out.

Draco stared at Blaise, "Couldn't find anyone else to ask?"

"Do you see anyone else?" Blaise snapped, waving around the common room. "Screw this, I'm going up," he said, marching towards the staircase. As soon as he stepped on the first step, the staircase converted itself into a slide and he stumbled back in surprise.

"What on –"

Draco stared in utter horror as Scarlett's scream echoed in the room. He watched her desperately trying to grab hold of the railing, as she slid down almost knocking Blaise onto the ground.

"What the hell was that!" she exclaimed angrily, as Blaise helped her to her feet.

"I- I'm sorry, I didn't- I didn't know that was going to happen," he stuttered, as he backed away from her.

Phoenix rushed down the stairs, scared and concerned, "Are you okay?"

Scarlett nodded, tearing her eyes from Blaise. "Apparently, he tried to come upstairs."

"I wouldn't have, had you two showed up on time!"

"Sorry, we overslept. Besides, it still looks like it's midnight in here," Phoenix pointed out to the dimly lit room.

Draco chuckled, "You'll get used to it."

As on cue, Blaise grabbed Phoenix's arm and dragged her out of the room. Draco shot him a glare, having found his rude interruption very annoying. Scarlett cleared her throat, "You can stare at the empty spot all you want, but they're not coming back."

Draco turned his attention to her and smirked, "Good morning, Draco. Thank you so much for waiting for me," he teased, as she hit his arm laughing.

"Good morning, Draco," she sang, imitating him.

Draco laughed, "Glad to know you're alive. I almost thought Parkinson locked you in your dorm."

Scarlett scoffed, "I'd like to see her try. I'm glad I don't have to see her face every day."

"What do you mean?"

"Oh, I forgot! It's just Nix and I in the dorm. And I'm so glad I don't have to see Parkinson's face every morning," Scarlett said, as they made their way out of the dungeons.

Draco chuckled, "Wish I had a room to myself. I swear to Merlin, if Crabbe and Goyle don't stop snoring, I'll kick them out."

"You'll get used to it," she laughed, patting his head.

Draco rolled his eyes, "I will not."

"Wait a min, do we turn left or right?" she asked, as they stopped at the end of the corridor. "This way," Draco said, dragging her with him. After taking two wrong turns, and having a run-in with the Bloody Baron, they successfully made their way to the hall. There were only a few people in the hall, as most of them had left for their classes. But the first years were still in the hall waiting as their respective house heads distributed their timetables for the year.
