Chapter Fourteen

Another day ...
It was time for Tawan's fashion event
Book stopped the car in front of the red carpet, he turned to his Sir. Win and asked, "You ready, sir?"
The valet was waiting outside, ready to park the car
Win let out a heavy deep breath before nodding
"Let's go." he said, opening the door
Cameras started to snap at him
Win waved and smiled at the cameras
He was trying his best not to get blinded by the flashes as Book leaded him to the entrance of the event
Book talked to the event organizer and she leaded them to their seat
Win uttered, "Thank you." they got seats right in front of the runway
Book asked, "Is there anything you need, sir?"
"None, Book, enjoy the night as well, please." Win gave him an assuring smile
Book politely bowed, "Yes, sir."

Not an hour has passed when Bright arrived in the event with his secretary Force
Win sighed when Bright sit next to him
He mumbled, "Why does your seat have to be next to mine?"
"Ask the organizer then." Bright mumbled back
Bright added, "You took a day-off yesterday? Didn't see you out and about."
Win gave him a look then asked, "What is it to you? Can't I have a day-off now?" he rolled his eyes as he looked away
Bright snickered, "Ooh, still the feisty type, huh."
Then he shook his head in amusement, "I was just asking so, take a chill pill."
Win gave him a quick glance and asked, "You've been bugging me since yesterday. What do you want?"
"I want to talk to you but not here." Bright answered, Win looked at him
Win raised an eyebrow, "What for?"
Bright looked at him as well and said, "I think you know the reason."
"Fine." Win looked away before nodding
Bright asked, "After this event?"
Win nodded again and said, "Just tell me where."
Bright simply smiled, he faced the front again
Before the event started, Tay came out of the backstage to greet his brother and Bright
Win stood up with a smile and hugged his P'Tay
"How are you holding up, lil' bro?" Tay asked, patting his back
"Still fine, phi." Win's answer, the two of them pulled away from each other
Tay turned to Bright who quickly stood up to greet him
"Hey, Bright." Tay smiled and patted his shoulder
Tay added, "You guys just sit back and enjoy the show."
He continued, "I better go back to the backstage now. I'll catch up with you guys later."
Then he waved at them and quickly made his way to the backstage
Then another mayoral candidate arrived
Win completely forgot about it
Bright and him, of course, politely greeted her
And yes, she's a woman
She said, "Good evening, gentlemen."
She settled on the seat on the row above theirs

At the after party ...

Win felt his phone vibrate as to why he put it out from his coat's pocket
He got a message from Bright

Meet me at the rooftop?

Don't ask him why he still got Bright's number.

He looked at Bright who was standing not too far away in front of him
Bright gave him a simple nod

Okay.

Win replied.

He watched as Bright politely excused himself from the people he was talking to
Win stood up and turned to Book
"Cover up for me for a while, Book." he said and Book already understood what he meant
Book said, "Yes, sir."
Win nodded, "Thank you."

He arrived at the rooftop and looked for Bright
He found him standing by the edge, looking at the night view of the buildings
Win silently stood beside him
Bright spoke first, "How do we fix the mess that our siblings created?"
Win let out a heavy deep breath and said, "Let me ask you one thing first."
Bright faced him and nodded, "Shoot."
"Did you already have an idea about the relationships of my siblings with yours?" Win asked, crossing his arms
Bright simply swallowed the lump in his throat and looked away
Then he slowly nodded, "Uh, yes."
Bright added, "But I completely told them off the first time I heard about it and after hearing that they are really serious about your brothers, I allowed them."
Win snorted, "And of course, you believed them."
"And believe me, Win, they are. They may be my little brothers, but they are not like me. Well, they are not like my past self." Bright mumbled the last part but Win still heard it loud and clear
"I know that you know why I'm like this to them, Bright." Win said while just looking at the view in front of them
Bright looked at him, "Win, —"
Win held up his hand to stop Bright from talking
"And I forgave you already, but why is it so hard for my mom to do the same thing to me?" Win shook his head in disbelief
Then he added, "I bet she hates me even more after my argument with Dunk and Phuwin."
Bright said, "I'll talk to my brothers and will make them stay away from your brothers."
Win looked at him and asked, "Do you think that will fix the situation?"
"Honestly? No. But Pond and Joong listens to me. They might have a hard time because of it but they will listen to me." Bright said with an assuring tone
"My brothers will surely have a hard time as well and I don't want that." Win shook his head
Win sighed before completely facing Bright
"Alright, fine. I'm allowing your brothers to be with my brothers but ..." Win trailed offf and stopped Bright from reacting immediately
"If I find out your brothers hurt my brothers even just once, that's when everything ends, completely and totally." Win added while pointing a finger at Bright
Bright laughed and agreed
Win asked, "Am I clear?"
Bright nodded, "Crystal clear."
Then he spoke again, "And Win, up to this day, I am still deeply sorry for what I did to you before. I don't think I can ever forgive myself for it."
"I told you, I forgave you for it." Win shook his head, rolling his eyes
Win added, "So, you should forgive yourself as well."
Bright let out a sigh, "How can I? I ruined your closeness with your mom. I'm the reason why she's still mad at you up to this day."
Win smiled, "Don't worry about my situation with my mom. I'd like to think she'll come around one day."
Then he spoke again, "And besides, I got used to it by now. So, do me a favor and free yourself from that guilt."
"Is it safe to say that we're good now?" Bright tested the waters out
Win nodded, "Uh-huh."
And that night, the two of them felt like a weight has been taken off from their shoulders .
