Chapter Twenty Two

A few days has passed since Bright's lunch with Win's mother
And since then, he was still thinking about how will he ask Win if he can court him
Bright sighed for the nth time today
"Is everything alright, sir?" Force asked who was in the office with him
"Force." he called Force and looked at him
Force immediately asked, "Yes, sir?"
Bright asked him, "I hope this won't be too personal but when was the last time you dated someone?"
Force smiled, "No worries, sir." then he said, "My last relationship ended a year ago."
Bright asked him another set of questions, "How did you start courting them? Like, how did you ask them
if you could court them?"
"May I, sir?" Force asked while lending his hand out towards the visitor's chair in front of Bright's table
Bright immediately answered, "Yes, sure, please."
And Force sit on one of the visitor's chairs in front of his table
Force started, "It wasn't easy at first 'cause we were good friends and I didn't want to ruin that."
Bright just intently listened to him
"So, I took it really slow like really, really slow, sir. I didn't wanna scare him ..." Force slowly said the last part and checked if Bright will react
Bright nodded at him with a smile
"I just acted around him the way just like before I realized that I was starting to have feelings for him but of course, I was adding a bit of sweetness every each day. Then I also started giving him flowers, his favorite flowers." Force smiled upon remembering that
"Eventually, he caught up and asked me about it and that was when I only asked him if I could court him." Force finished his story
"Wow, thank you so much, Force." Bright said and patted Force's shoulder
Bright added, "That is really helpful."
Then he smiled, "But you seemed to really love him. What happened, though? If you only don't mind me asking."
"It's fine, sir. We broke up 'cause he got too busy, well, we both did. And he chose to focus first on being Sir. Win's secretary." Force let out a small smile
Bright got surprised after hearing the last part
He whispered, "What?" then he immediately said, "I'm so sorry, Force, I didn't intend to make you remember that."
"It's all good, sir." Force smiled, standing up
He went back to his standing position before
Bright gave him an assuring smile, "You did all you could, Force, I'm sure he knows that."
Force bowed his head, "Thank you, sir."

A week has passed and Bright didn't miss a single day to send a bouquet of flowers to Win's office.

Seriously, what's with the flowers?

It's been a week now 🙄

Bright chuckled at that.

Why? Don't you like them?

I didn't mean it like that. I'm just wondering why do you keep on sending me bouquets

Hmm, I wonder why as well. 🤔

Bright decided to tease Win.
He smiled when he saw that Win was calling him
"What?" Bright answered, still smiling
"I swear, if you're trying to hit on me, you're gonna be rejected already." Win rolled his eyes
Bright raised an eyebrow, "Oh, yeah?"
Win asked, "So, what is it really, huh?"
Bright asked back, "What do you want it to be?"
Win groaned and Bright laughed at that
"Alright, alright. I'm sorry." Bright said in between laughs
He spoke again, "Hey, this is for real now." and then he asked Win, "Can I court you?"
Win became silent
Bright continued, "I didn't get to do it to you before and only if you'd let me, I will court you."
Bright kept on speaking, "I'm not expecting any answer from you right now. So, please, take your time."
Win asked, "Are you serious?"
Bright chuckles at that then he smiled, "I'm dead serious."
Then he added, "I didn't want to do this over the phone. Meet me tonight?"
Win agreed, "Alright." then he said, "Let's just meet in my place."
"Noted. What do you want me to bring?" asked by Bright
"Anything will do." Win's answer
He followed, "Even if you don't bring anything, that's totally okay."
Bright uttered, "See you tonight."

Bright parked in the underground parking lot of the building where Win's staying at.
He used the elevator to reach the penthouse

On his right hand, he tightly held the bouquet of red tulips and on his left hand, he was holding a bottle of Win's favorite brand of white wine
He stopped at Win's front door and pressed the doorbell
Not even a minute has passed when Win opened the front door
Bright smiled at him, "Hey, good evening."
Win said back, "Good evening as well." then he looked at the bouquet that Bright was holding
He teasingly said, "Being the city mayor really has it perks, huh? It's almost 9 in the evening and yet, you still got to buy a bouquet of red tulips."
Bright chuckled and shook his head in amusement then he handed the bouquet to Win
Win smiled, accepting it then he stepped aside so, Bright could come inside
He closed the door after Bright
Bright put down the bottle of white wine on the coffee table
"There's another one?" Win asked and picked up the white wine
Win's eyes lightened up upon seeing that it is his favorite white wine
Win narrowed his eyes at Bright, "Did you just get lucky again? Or you know this is my favorite white wine?"
Bright said, "I needed my brothers' help for that one."
Win laughed, "You could've just asked me directly." then he shook his head in amusement
"Let me be. That's when I only get to ask my brothers for help." said by Bright
Win laughed at him again

They were sitting beside each other on the carpeted floor in Win's living room, drinking the white wine that Bright brought with the charcuterie board of snacks that Win prepared
The red tulips bouquet was on the sofa behind them
"When did you start living here?" Bright asked while looking around
Win answered, "Right after I graduated." then he added, "Dad got me this penthouse as a gift."
He chuckled, "I remember I had a hard time moving out because of my siblings."
"Gemini wouldn't stop hugging me that day. Then the next morning, they were all on my doorstep." Win laughed at that memory, Bright also laughed at that
Bright nodded, "You have a really massive and beautiful place."
Win rolled his eyes, "You're one to talk."
Win added, "You're the one here who owns a house."
"But it only has one floor not like yours." Bright shrugged and took a sip of his white wine
"Oh, please, I'll bet everything that I have if your house is not wider than the lobby of this building." Win rolled his eyes for the second time tonight and took a sip of his white wine as well
Bright chuckled,  "You got me there."
Win shook his head in amusement
Bright put his glass down on the coffee table and looked at Win
"What?" Win asked, looking back at him
Bright intently looked at him, "Back to my question earlier."
"Why are you suddenly bringing that up? And please, stop looking at me like that." Win looked away and finished his glass of white wine
Bright chuckled and started to tease him, "Is it because of the white wine or you're really blushing?"
Win rolled his eyes, "Blame it on the white wine, jerk."
Bright smiled, "Alright." then he slowly held Win's hands above the coffee table
Win looked at him again
Bright said, "Hey, I told you no pressure."
'You say that and yet, your actions are pressuring me right now!' Win thought.
He could feel how fast his heart was beating right now
Win sighed and held Bright's hands back, catching Bright off guard
Then he said, "My siblings will surely tease me about this but alright, you can court me."
Bright widened his eyes, processing what Win just said
He hugged Win, "Thank you, thank you. I'll never let you down and no taking it back now."
Win smiled and hugging Bright back then he said, "I don't have a plan to."
