PLEASANT, WARM AND BRIGHT rays of the sun, high above the sky, were shining onto the different surfaces of the earth.
It was the time of the year where new life started to bloom and adorn the nature with its different kinds of shapes, colors and textures.
Flowers started to bloom, trees started to fully regain their bright and saturated colors that they once had owned.
Nature started to blossom once again.
During this time of year, people started to become happier, as well as more joyful as the sun started to shine more and more with each passing day. The air outside began to warm up, therefore making the once crystallized and pearly white snow disappear and melt bit by bit.
Outside became more lively.
So with that being it, more people and kids appearing on the streets, it got loud. Way too loud for the opposite of extroverts.
"I can't deal with this."
"Aw, come on! It's finally starting to become warm outside again. Don't be a killjoy!"
"It's not like I chose to do this. You started dragging me out of my apartment without any notice." A heavy sigh escaped her [s/c] lips.
Putting up a forced smile, making the [h/c]-haired woman begin to groan, a soft voice then proceeded to tune in. "I did that just because you won't leave your place. You need to gain strength from the sun! Refuel!"
"I guess so, but you could've chosen a different place and setting. Kagome, you brought me to the city center. Look how packed it is here."
"You're a crybaby, (Y/n)."
"If you say so, believe it."
The perfect definition: Two people being polar opposites.
Kagome and (Y/n). Although your noisy, annoying and loud best friend was like the sun that blended you and your eyes, you couldn't help but to keep up with her. After all, you two had been friends for years and years.
The sun and the moon.
Polar opposites.
But you were grateful to have someone on your side you knew would always stay with you, just like how it had always been. After all, you needed someone to compensate for your cold and dry demeanor.
You weren't the most fun.
"Gosh, (Y/n)! Are you even able to show some kind of emotion on your face?!" Kagome heavily groaned as she pushed her index finger to your forehead, making you glare at her. "You look like those stone statues on the Easter Island. What are they called..? Hm..-"
"You mean Moai?"
"Yes! Well, I guess they're called that.. Moey. Moi. Moeoi. Maoi-"
Shaking your head, you flicked your friend's forehead, leading to her frowning and rubbing the sore spot on her skin.
Although Kagome was older than you were, by two whole years, it sometimes wondered you how she still remained like a child.
It was something that you thought about quite often. After all, it wasn't like as if you had met her just yesterday.
However, people do change a lot.
But it's just how life went. You can't possibly expect someone to stay the exact same way, they did the moment you met them.
And that's what makes everyone special in their own way.
"I can't believe you're older than me."
"Aw, come on!" Kagome sighed. "Don't remind me that I'm pushing.. It sounds like as if I just turned sixty yesterday."
"Mhm."
Letting out a small laugh and turning to you with a smile on her face, Kagome softly grasped your wrist and pulled you towards a random shop.
You were cringing at the sudden contact.
It wasn't like as if you hated the moment, it was just that Kagome was quite a strong woman. And that, that showed up with the way she was dragging you.
She never realized any of her actions.
A literal party bomb.
It was almost like as if there was a child trapped within her body with the way the black-haired girl acted so childish and carefree.
But you were happy for her.
Happy that she found her peace.
"Ooo, there's so many flavors.." Sparkles shone brightly in Kagome's amber eyes. "I can't pick anything."
"Well, you better do. I'll be right back and I surely hope that you chose something until then."
And ending your sentence with the same flat tone you had talked with all day, you made your way towards the restroom.
You were starting to lose the tiniest bit of endurance you had mustered up for today. The people all around, talking way too loudly in your opinion, the crying babies, loud animals, kids, everything. You were drained.
Leaning against the wall of the restroom and scrolling through your phone for a few moments, you then tried to build up mental strength to go back outside.
However, just as a few minutes had passed and you tried to leave the room, someone bumped into your back.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't see you there."
You furrowed your eyebrows together.
"I'm standing right in front of the door. What do you mean you didn't see me?"
Clearing her throat, the woman that had bumped into you slightly lowered her head in apology. "I really did not see you. I apologize, its just that I feel a little too drained today. Everything is kind of making me tired. It's like I'm carrying a huge amount of-"
"Look, I don't care about your personal problems." Your face relaxed and returned to the usual emotionless way it was before. "Just watch it next time."
"I apologize." The woman now bowed completely.
It made your eyes widen.
Not because of the woman in front of you apologizing, no. You couldn't care less about that.
Furrowing your eyebrows once again together, you proceeded to click your tongue and hurried out of the restroom.
Was it fear?
Was it anger?
Was it danger?
What exactly was it?
You couldn't believe that it would be once again you coming across such creature. It was almost every time you went outside.
Those disfigured and deformed creatures or monsters that followed you everywhere you went.
And just moments ago, there was one attached to the woman's back.
"I really can't catch a break.."
Sighing and raking your fingers through your hair, you made your way back to Kagome with your usual emotionless face and attitude.
You just wanted to go home.
Be alone.
It was only the beginning of April - spring, a season where the darkness and gloominess of the winter before would be melted away with the long awaited creeping of the sun.
Slowly but surely.
Clenching your jaw and furrowing your eyebrows together yet once again as countless thoughts clouded your mind, you stared into nothingness.
"I'm starting to lose my mind once for real."
