SCREAMS OF PURE PAIN filled the atmosphere as the burning continued.

And even now, you just stood there watching.

Megumi's hands were burning more and more as time had passed. It were only a few seconds that the raven-haired male held onto the book, but to him, it felt like hours.

"F-Fuck!"

"I told you, do not touch it." You exclaimed without any remorse or mercy. "You just didn't listen."

"But don't worry," You continued speaking with a dull tone. "your savior should be here any moment."

And the moment you had finished your sentence, a white-haired male rushed towards you and Megumi.

"G-Gojō-Sen—"

"Don't Talk." Satoru cut his student off.

Taking Megumi's hands, Satoru forcefully pulled them away at lightning speed and replaced them with his own.

Due to his infinity being activated, Satoru wasn't getting hurt, however, he somehow had felt the heat on his palms. It was something that made him irritated.

Dropping it to the ground, the white-haired male shot you a look with murderous intent. "What the fuck was that?"

"Ask the brat."

"Megumi," He turned around, facing the young boy. "Are you alright?"

"Mhm," Megumi nodded. "I'm not actually physically burnt or anything, but it still somehow hurts."

Feeling your collar getting snatched, you began rolling your eyes. It was Satoru taking a hold of your collar and pulling you towards him.

You knew that how he currently was acting was something serious. He meant it. Not how it was last time, when he had tried to get you to explode in anger.

You felt his murderous intent.

He wasn't playing with anyone when it came to Megumi. That, you had just came to notice. You wondered what kind of relationship they have. Is Megumi his son? Brother? Well, it was interesting to know, but you weren't specifically dying to know.

"And why the fuck are you even outside? You fucking promised to stay at the school!"

It was now your turn to let out a dry chuckle as you stared into his eyes, well, blindfold. "A kid. That's what you are. A stupid child holding onto promises. Didn't your parents teach you that promises are meant to be broken, Gojō?"

"You want to die so bad, Hinokami?

"Well, I guess you could help a little with that."

Clicking his tongue, Satoru forcefully let you go and turned around to pick up the book from the ground.

As he inspected the book a little further, he came to a conclusion that it must be an inherited family treasure or something that would fit into that category. After all, there was the Hinokami clan emblem on the front of it, though barely there.

There must be something bigger going on with you than he first had anticipated.

"What's up with this?" The white-haired male held up the book. "What even is written in it?"
