THE FEELING OF UTTER warmth was spreading all over your glowing [s/c] face as the sun was shining directly onto it.

It was in the middle of summer and you didn't know if you should actually hate it or love it.

For once, flowers and plants were blooming at their peaks and adorned the nature, as well as people's eyes with their saturated explosions of colors.

Furthermore, it was warm. You could go outside and just savor the sun and its warmth, even finally be able to wear anything you want.

But the downside of summer was also exactly that. It was warm — too hot on some days that it would be unbearable. In addition, the people. More and more people are having the same idea of going outside, making the cities, parks and other places packed full.

Hence your unsureness.

"Ughh," You heard Kagome grumble and curse under your breath. "It's too hot!"

"Hm, it's actually not that bad."

"Oh, I'm sorry, miss Hinokami (Y/n) that you aren't being tortured by the sun like I am!"

Straightening your back, you shot your friend an unimpressed look. "You people are so extra."

"Just tell me that you fell into a pit of lava as a kid that made you gain an immunity against hotness. (Y/n), you're actually unbelievable. I feel like I'm being roasted alive."

Sighing, you stood up and began walking away.

Of course Kagome had shouted after you, asking what you were doing. Your answer to her question was that you would be back again any minute, since you would go out and buy something to eat as a refresher due to the heat.

"Get me some ice cream mochi, thank you!"

Up until now your excuse for you and Kagome not being able to see each other as often was your personal life. Well, you came up with the excuse that your work had started to pack you full with new paperwork due to someone having made a huge mistake within the company, eventually making you work back from the office and not from home.

And it surely had worked out.

After all, Kagome wasn't one to pry too hard into your private life and problems you were facing as she knew you wouldn't say anything and would rather keep facing your problems yourself.

And she was okay with that.

She'd support you from the shadows.

The true reason though for you finally having some free time from training and thinking about ways to kill Gojō Satoru was actually due to an event at the school.

The battle of the Tokyo and Kyoto students.

You refused to participate in it as you weren't a fifteen-year old student to represent a school that basically kidnapped you. Furthermore, you hadn't had the motivation to be within the audience and just watch everything that goes down.

And so, here you were with Hirano Kagome.

Your annoying, yet bearable friend.

"Ah." A sudden thought came to your mind as you stopped walking. "Yūji isn't in hiding anymore." Because of the pink-haired boy attending the event, he and Satoru had announced that Yūji came back from the dead.

You had a feeling that it didn't go very well.

"What losers." You mumbled, thinking about Satoru and his awakened-from-the-dead student.

Now that you had a certain someone in mind, you immediately began to frown. Taking your phone out and opening the camera in selfie-mode, you proceeded to slightly tilt your head and looked at your cheeks and jaw - Your camera being used as a mirror by you.

You couldn't help but to always think about that one moment where Satoru had grabbed your face in a brutal manner. Although you didn't know that man all to well or long enough, you couldn't imagine him being able to do something like that to a person that didn't even do anything bad or wrong. Sure, you had your share of uncalled comments, but that wasn't a reason to get physical. Especially when you weren't even saying anything too bad.

"It's gone.." You muttered, still looking at you in your camera. "Why did—"

And just as you were about to end your questioning and talking to yourself, you saw someone get into the picture with you as they stood behind you.

You almost immediately flinched upon noticing, put your phone away and turned around with a glare.

"Hmm, you don't really need to look at your face like that." The person smiled. "There's nothing wrong with it. You look beautiful, no need to be insecure."

You didn't know if you should be offended or not.

Insecure? So they thought that you would have something on your face to be insecure about?

"Kinda rude, if you ask me."

"Oh. I didn't mean to offend you, little one. I kinda sense.. hm.. a fiery attitude? The look on your face says it all." The smile didn't vanish.

"Who even are you?"

"No one. Can't I just compliment a stranger that seems to be insecure about her face?"

Feeling a tick mark on your head, you began glaring at the male in front of you. "How about I'll make sure you have something to be insecure about on your face?"

The unknown male began frowning and put on a pout. "That's not nice." He then proceeded to approach you even further, but you stood your ground and didn't move a single muscle as an unimpressed look was on your face. "Can't you see my face? I have enough to be insecure about with all those scars. I just wanted to check up on you for like a minute, because I just thought you needed it. I don't have all the time now for you to start an argument with me. I have place to be at."

"Oh well, then I'll make sure you'll have another scar to be insecure about."

Huffing, the scar-faced male had now put on an unimpressed look on his face as he started to lift his hand. "Well, I need to go now. I'm being expected."

You weren't sure who that person was and what exactly he wanted from you, but you surely could say that something felt off. He was bad news.

It was only until you felt a touch on your décolleté and a loud hiss from the male in front of you that you came back to your senses.

"W-What—" You watched him with furrowed eyebrows in confusion as he held onto his shaking hand. "How.. What—?"

"What the fuck is going on..?" You mumbled to yourself as you continued to look at the scar-faced male that was wincing in pain.

Furthermore, the moment he had touched you and let out a hiss of pain, you felt an impressive amount of cursed energy flowing out of him.

What just happened?

He started to sweat and had a look of deadly fear within his eyes. You knew that look. Just too well.

Stepping back, you rushed back to Kagome and hoped that nothing had happened to her. After all, you had left her alone by herself.

Did this encounter happen to distract you?

It all just seemed off. Way too off.

You wouldn't forgive yourself, if something had happened to her.
