⚠️Before the next chapter!⚠️ If you haven't watched "Another Country," it's a movie I highly recommend watching before the next chapter because there's gonna be an adorable reference! But if you don't want to watch it, it's not going to make anything in the next chapter confusing so don't worry!

Enjoy!

Miguel stared at Peter B, "are you kidding me?" He snarled in a low whisper careful to not wake up Gabriella.

"Yeah, I did. I just feel like it might be better to have someone keeping you company through this!" Peter reasoned desperately to the seething Miguel.

"I don't need company." Miguel said, turning around getting ready to leave the kitchen. He flicked on the lights, since now the sun was setting leaving the sky a brilliant violet hue.

Peter dropped the plate in the sink he was holding and shred the gloves from his fingers, "yes you do! You're going through something, man. I'm offering you something to lean on. This isn't a burden to me. I want to help." Peter was trying hard to make eye contact with Miguel, who was refusing to look at him.

"Well maybe I don't want your help."

"You said maybe, so there's a part of you that does. Good lord Miguel can you please accept this for once!" Peter B raised his voice towards the end. Miguel finally whipped around, bringing a finger to his lips to shush Peter B before pointing to the stairs indicating to him that Gabriella was trying to sleep.

"Fine. Lo que sea. But I need to go out tonight. I've left the city unattended for too long." Miguel said, pulling off his sweater to reveal the snug white T shirt underneath.

"But wouldn't Lyla alert you if something really big happened?" Peter unzipped his jacket (even though it was August and sweltering, Peter B would never be seen without the thing.) revealing the red and blue suit underneath.

"Doesn't matter. Turn around Parker." Miguel commanded.

"What? Why? Oh." Peter B did as he was told before hearing Miguel's stern voice again along with the sound of Miguel undoing his belt and prying off his pants and shirt.

"Lyla, turn on the suit." Miguel said to thin air before Lylas little holographic body appeared in front of them.

"You got it boss." And with that she left and Miguel's pixelated suit fizzled to life.

Peter B turned back around and Miguel had already made his way to the front door.

"Wait for me!" Peter B whispered, or tried to whisper.

"Why are you coming?" Miguel asked, annoyed by how clingy Peter B was acting.

"Because I want to keep you company. And I want to see the city." Peter shrugged, marching up to Miguel.

Miguel let out a heavy sigh before opening the door and stepping outside. Peter B was just glad that Miguel was going to let him tag along. Because of what had happened earlier that day, Peter B didn't feel like it would be safe to let Miguel be roaming the city on his own. He still wasn't at his best physically or mentally.

"Two shots of rapture." Peter B thought. "What an idiot."

Peter B knew just how hard he and "Perfect Peter" as Peter B liked to call him, had worked on getting Miguel off the damn drug. It was sad to see how it had all been unraveled in a matter of days. Peter supposed it really showed how much Miguel had loved the man, going back on old harmful habits just to get reprieve from the grief and mourning he felt. It also made Peter B sad to think that Miguel would never love him like that.

Him and Mj had talked about his feelings for Miguel before, and she said she could see where he was coming from, and what a confusing and strange situation he was stuck in. Peter B knew Miguel would never love the same. He knew that Miguel would get hung up on certain things and then how they would then dictate who he was and how he behaved. "Perfect Peter" was a perfect example of that.

"Up here." Miguel called to Peter B as they swung through the city surveying the grounds. Peter nodded and followed Miguel up to the top of a building that overlooked the park that sat in all of its glory in the middle of Nueva York.

"That's a pretty park!" Peter B remarked.

"Yes it is." Miguel answered absently.

Peter watched Miguel watch the night sky. He paid close attention to how he would waver back and forth in the breeze. He was in such a fragile state. Peter B shouldn't have let him out.

He walked over to Miguel and stood next to him on the building, pretending to be observing the city when in reality he was observing Miguel. Peter B looked at Miguel, the way the light fell around his face, illuminating all the right places. His eyes, his upturned nose, his cheek bones.

His lips

He was beautiful. No wonder "Perfect Peter" had fallen for him.

Suddenly Miguel sank to the floor of the roof they were on.

"Woah! Miguel!" Peter B cried, stretching his arms to catch the taller man.

"I'm ok, I'm, I think my legs are more tired than the rest of me." Miguel's breathing was heavy.

"No, no. I think the rest of you is just as tired." Peter B put a hand to behind Miguel's head so he didn't need to use as much strength to keep it up on his own.

"You just don't know when to quit." Peter B said with a quiet, gentle smile on his face.

Miguel let his body stay limp in Peter B arms for only moments more before he was squirming to get back on his feet.

"Hey, I don't think you should be doing any more work that requires all of your physical strength." Peter B reasoned, helping Miguel to his feet.

"I think the city's ok for tonight." Miguel muttered, blinking hard.

"Do you feel like your body's ready enough to go back to your house? It's a fair way." Peter B looked at him with concern in his eyes.

"I don't, I don't know."

"Ok well that's one way to say no. If you were sure you could handle it you would've said yes. How about we stop in the park to rest?"

Miguel stared at Peter B with his mouth slightly open to take in more air. He was so out of it.

"Yeah, that's ok."
