Peter B hadn't seen Miguel in a week, or when he did, it was only for a fleeting moment in the halls or when he happened to glance inside the gym at an ungodly hour.

It hurt Peter B. He took the time out of his day, out of his life, to spend time with Miguel and this was what he got as a thanks. He just didn't understand why Miguel was avoiding him like the plague. Peter B hadn't said anything wrong, to his knowledge. Miguel was horrid when it came to speaking up about how he felt, and now was a great example of that. He seemed to have a way of flipping a situation on its head and finding the worst in it.

"I just don't get it! I didn't do anything!" Peter B sat down on the couch with a loud thump.

"I don't know what to tell you, Peter. Maybe he's not comfortable enough yet with being around another Peter. Specifically one that looks a lot like his Peter." Mj reasoned, adding, "but older." Which gained her a grimace from Peter B.

"I just wish he would maybe communicate that with me! He's leaving me in the dark here. It's aggravating because it's getting in the way of me being able to focus at work!" Peter threw his hands up into the air in front of him.

Mj sighed, her hands tracing over her rounded stomach. After Peter B had spent time with Miles Morales in another world, he came back full of apologies and a wish for a child. Mj had mercy on the wreck and let him back into her life. He was still a challenge at points, but he was good company and never meant any harm.

"I'm sorry, Peter. Maybe you need to try talking to him?" Mj suggested.

"I've tried! Kinda." Peter moaned.

"Well maybe you should try harder! Sound familiar? You don't want to regret it later. You might as well do what you can while you can." Mj said getting up from where she was seated in a rocking chair near the couch to where Peter B was sitting.

"I guess." Peter B shrugged, leaning his head on his wife.

"It's almost time for you to get going anyways. Do you want me to make you something to eat?" Mj offered.

"Thank you, but I think I'm alright. I'll grab something at the cafeteria. You should rest. Let me know if you need me! Call me." Peter B kissed her forehead before heading out the door.

Miguel had no desire to see Peter B. He wasn't quite sure why, but seeing his face made him uncomfortable. He didn't want to hear his voice, he didn't want to interact with him, and he certainly didn't want to talk to him. So, he kept himself hidden in his office and requested that either Jess or Ben brought him food on the occasion.

Miguel was exhausted. He hadn't slept in days and he was feeling it.

"Miguel doesn't that sofa over there look so comfortable and inviting?" Lyla popped into view and stood right in front of Miguel, blocking his view of the screens.

"Lyla, move." Miguel waved a hand through her, only for her to appear closer to his face.

"That couch. Oh my, so soft! So squishy! So good for sleeping on!" Lyla pestered Miguel, zipping over to the couch and pretending to lounge on it.

"Lyla please, I'm busy."

"Yeah, busy wearing yourself ragged." Lyla sat on his shoulder and started to brush his hair with a tiny hair brush. She put his hair over her own, and pretended to be rapunzel.

"Enough, Lyla."

"You're right! You've had enough! Sleep Miguel please. For everyone's sanity." Lyla stopped fiddling with Miguel's hair and looked at him with a serious expression on.

"Fine. If I rest will you leave me alone?" Miguel growled.

"Yes, now go." Lyla beckoned to the couch, and Miguel began to lower the platform before heading over to the couch and lying down. Miguel closed his eyes and turned his body so that it was facing the wall of the sofa.

Peter B grouched his way to the cafeteria to snag a bite to eat before checking the schedule.

"A burger and three empanadas?" The spider behind the counter asked, with Peter B being a regular, he got to know his order.

Peter B paused, thinking it over.

"Yeah." He responded with a straight face.

The man handed Peter B his order and he began to make his very slow descent towards Miguel's office space. How long had it been since he had been there? He wasn't sure. He passed Ben on the way and Ben stopped him.

"Wait, are you going to Miguel?" Ben looked worried.

"Yeah? What about it?"

"You do know he doesn't want to see you, right?"

Ouch. That was a knife to the heart for a few reasons, one being that now he had confirmation that Miguel really was trying to ignore him, and two being that he had told Ben and probably Jess that he didn't want to see Peter B.

"Believe me, I know. I'm going anyway though. He needs it whether he likes it or not. And besides, it's lunch time and he needs to eat because he is very good at not doing that!" Peter B shouted the last sentence, feeling himself get worked up, he quickly said goodbye to Ben and continued his journey.

It was a cold grey day at HQ and because of how the place had been set up when it was a nice day, it was very pleasant at HQ. But when it wasn't a nice day and it was grey and rainy, it was very drowsy and sad. It was like the place was taunting Peter B and he most certainly did not appreciate that. Once he sluggishly made his way to the door, he sighed, quietly turning the handle and heading into the dark space.

Once inside, he didn't see Miguel anywhere. Peter B hopped to God that he was in there somewhere. He looked to the platform, and saw nothing. He glanced to the bathroom, there was no light on.

"Fuck." Peter B drawled before his eyes caught on the couch in the corner.

There lie Miguel O'Hara, limp and asleep.
