After Miguel woke up on his own time, and not by Peters kind hands, he had assumed Peter was just too tired to wake him and figured he'd find Peter at home later with a nice cup of coffee and scribbling away with colored pencils in the midst of creating a masterpiece with Gabriella. It wasnt until he began to hear speculations that a Peter Parker may have died that Miguel had even considered that it could've been his Peter. There was a heavy feeling that had begun to settle itself in Miguel's chest as he rushed to clean up his office early and depart for home. Just as he was closing down the consol Lyla hissed into view with a solemn expression etched into her holographic face.
"Miguel," Lyla waited for him to put down the papers he was holding.
Miguel's breath caught in his throat. He didnt know if he had it in him to look at Lyla. He had a pretty good idea of what was to come. Wearily, he looked to where she stood floating in the air above him.
"Yes?" He stuttered.
"I'm," Lyla paused, looking away before continuing, pained. "Miguel, I'm so sorry." Lyla looked down, for someone who otherwise wouldnt have an emotional standpoint, she seemed to feel rather deeply for the man in front of her.
Miguel's hands dropped heavily on the table in front of him. There he stood. By himself, yet again, and there was nothing he could do about it. The man who he had believed could finally put his loneliness at rest was gone with no proper goodbye. Miguel struggled to think of the last words they had shared between eachother.
"Don't worry Miguel, I'll be back soon enough! You just stay here and sleep while I'm gone." But he would not in fact be back soon enough. He wouldnt be anything or anywhere "soon enough".
Miguel felt weak in the knees. Now what? How was he to tell Gabriella? How was he supposed socialize at work every single day? It wasn't fair. He longed to join Peter, to stay with the man he loved. He didn't know what state he was in. It was then it occurred to him that if he was quick enough, he could see his Perfect Peter one last time.
Miguel scrambled to put his watch back on and furiously fiddled with it until the yellow and orange portal opened in front of him.
"Lyla? Tell everyone to go home early."
"But that doesn't seem li-"
"Lyla. Just do it for fucksake and stop arguing with me for once in your life and be useful like I programmed you to be!" Miguel yelled at the figure ferociously.
Lyla was quiet before nodding her head. She deteriorated from view and Miguel continued into the portal. He had no time to properly process what was happening until he reach earth 1610. Miguel sliced through the fibers connecting the worlds. He hadn't even bothered putting on his mask. There was no point. He didn't give a damn about who saw him in this world. He wasn't going to stay long anyways.
Miguel webbed himself to the top of a building before calling upon Lyla once again.
"Lyla, where is Peter located?" He asked, trying to keep the fret in his voice to a minimum.
"He's, well he's in Alchemax where the collider used to be. Oh, wait." Lylas face contorted deep in thought.
"Well? What is it?" Miguel snapped impatiently.
"There's someone there with him. Wait, three people. You can go now but id recommend caution and-"
"Don't tell me what to do." Miguel spat, turning her off. Miguel continued on his way to alchemax, scanning the world around him frantically. He finally found the building and plunged into it. His eyes, thanks to the thermal vision they had, caught the attention of three figures on the other side of a pile of rubble. It was then he realized Lyla was wrong. There were actually four. There was one person seemingly on the ground, one up on the a rafter of sorts and two standing in front of the figure on the ground. Suddenly, the being in the rafters made a sound and the two facing the fallen human whipped their heads around. One of them, the bigger of the two, muttered something to the one standing next to them. The shorter one then shot forward and chased after the shadow in the rafters. The two of them disappeared from sight and Miguel figured that the other two figures that were still there, we not going anywhere. Judging the size and stature of the one staring above the fallen being, Miguel guessed it was King Pin. He swore, if it was King Pins fault, hes not going to be a happy camper. Miguel felt something surge through him, compelling him to jump down and attack King Pin. And thats exactly what he did.
Miguel pushed himself off of where he was perched and landed a flying punch directly to King Pins face. King Pin was shot back, hitting his head on a beam and falling backwards.
"Who the hell are you?" King Pin gasped, audible surprise filling his voice.
Miguel rushed over to him and grabbed him by the collar of his white shirt.
"That doesn't matter. What the hell did you do to Peter?" Miguel screamed getting in his face, so close their foreheads almost touch. Miguel's fangs were bared and he stared King Pin down with a flesh eating glare. King Pin just laughed softly before answering the stranger.
"I didn't do anything." He said smugly.
Miguel's claws came unsheathed and his slashed King Pins chest.
"Don't lie to me!" Miguel's voice echoed alarmingly through the open space.
King Pin grimaced, wincing at the pain that had sprouted from his front.
"I'm not." He spat back in Miguel's face. This only angered Miguel more.
"Liar!" Miguel cried out in anguish.
Another punch met King Pins jaw. And another. And soon Miguel wasn't even waiting for a response. He kept hitting him over and over.
"Liar!" He cried, now less like bark of a Doberman and more like the quiet plea of a wounded puppy.
"I'm not lying to you!" King Pin spewed, "it was a boy. Dressed like Spider-Man. He was even swinging from webs like he did." King Pin admitted.
"That doesn't make sense! You still lie!" Miguel shouted at the now badly injured King Pin who was struggling to keep his breathing normal. Miguel continued to throw weaker punches to King Pins chest and he just took it.
"Why are you this upset? He's just stupid old Spider-Man!" King Pin spat.
"Shut up! Shut up." Miguel growled at King Pin.
Just then, there was a new voice. A quieter, weaker voice.
"Miguel?"
