He stood alone with his hands on his hips wondering what was to come. Why didn't he get to go too? Was he going to be taken last as a punishment? Where was he going to live now?

Chaos ensued around him and soon enough Miguel O'hara was left standing in a barren waist land, the only other person by his side was Peter B who looked terrible.

It was all too silent. There wasn't the sound of anything. No wind, no cars, no laughter, tears, or screams. Miguel had always loved the quiet, but not like this. Not when it was like putting a plastic bag over ones head. Everything was hazy, including Miguel.

"Miguel, we need to go." Peter whispered softly, reaching out and putting a gentle hand on Miguel's shoulder and guiding him to the portal he had opened up.

The solum two passed through the portal and ended up at HQ. As they were slowly walking through the brightly lit halls, Peter B by Miguel's side to keep him upright and in check, two young Spiders approached them. The taller Spider on the left seemed to switch from color to color every so often and the one on the right, the shorter one by quite a lot, with striking fluffy black hair spoke,

"Hey Miguel we have a question for yo-"

"Not now. Sorry." Peter told the young Spiders sternly.

The Spiders nodded, picking up on Miguel's unusually fragile state. There was confusion on their faces but they didn't question any further. The proceeded on with their day, pressed up close to one another, whispering and speculating about what had happened.

"Lets go to the control room." Peter said to Miguel so that he knew where he was taking him. Miguel was deathly quiet. Much more than he ever normally was and it didn't seem like there was anything Peter B could say that would get him to talk. Peter wrapped an arm around Miguel, squishing Miguel's arms against his body.

"We're going to figure this out ok? Together." Peter whispered to Miguel who still stayed staring straight ahead at nothing.

Peter led Miguel over to the couch that they had sat on many times before. What was it about that couch that held so many important moments for them? Peter pondered to himself.

He sat Miguel down and went around to the back of the couch. Peter began to carefully run his fingers through Miguel's silky hair, taking great care in massaging the base of his neck. He pressed his fingers against the sides of his head and rubbed them against his scalp in soothing circular motions. Miguel accepted it, or rather, let it happen to him. He didn't press his head into the touch like he normally would, but he didn't pull away either. Peter B wondered if Miguel even knew he was doing it to him in that moment. Miguel seemed to be just as empty as the world was when they left.

Peter B took his hands from his hair carefully and softly pressed a kiss onto the top of Miguel's warm head, resting his whole hand over it afterwards.

"I'm so sorry, Miguel." Peter B felt tears running down his cheeks.

He hurt for Miguel. Miguel had now lost his daughter twice. Once in his own world, and now in another in a much worse way. Peter B knew Miguel wasn't good with emotions right from the start, and now after having had gone through so much with Miguel, Peter B felt awful for Miguel, being unable to understand what he was feeling properly. It must have frustrated Miguel so much and that was why he lashed out so frequently. He just didn't know what other options he had.

Peter B didn't know much about Miguels growing up, Miguel had been extremely closed off when it came to the matter, but from what Peter B was able to gather through a few different sources and based on Miguel's general behavior, he figured that Miguel was pressured to do a lot of things and up hold different matters. Miguel always seemed to carry himself with a belief that he had to be responsible for everything and he had to take care of everyone.

"How are you doing, Miguel?" Peter B asked tentatively before coming back around from the back of the couch to sit down with Miguel.

Miguel was silent for a moment more before muttering, "I don't know." His voice was tired and there was a lack of emotion within it.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

"No." Miguel said short and firmly.

"Are you sure? I think it might help you to talk about how you're feeling."

"I'm not feeling anything Parker." Miguel growled, still avoiding eye contact with Peter.

"Well, I doubt that I think-"

"Enough, Parker." Miguel snapped, his chest rising and falling at a not so steady pace.

"Alright, ok. I'm sorry." Peter whispered an apology, he knew he was going to have to get Miguel to talk soon enough, but right now was not the time and Miguel helped make that very clear to him.

There was a sickening crack of thunder outside and Peter B picked up on the way Miguel flinched at the sound, startled by the loud noise. The pair heard the rain begin to pitter patter against the building and Peter B found it fitting that of course at a time like this it was going to rain at such a degree.

Suddenly, Miguel spoke, his words thick.

"Why are you still here?" There was malice in his words, but Peter B could tell that he was just scared.

"I'm here because I care about you and you need someone by your side right now." Peter B rubbed Miguel's tense back, feeling the way the muscles writhed under his long fingers.

"Why." Miguel asked, his voice drenched with discomfort.

"Because you're important to me!" Peter settled on that explanation, he was too scared himself to give the real reason. Peter B felt that now was not the time to have that kind of conversation.

"I know," Miguel said, his words sad, "but why?"

"Just because. I don't know." Peter tried to brush the topic off by asking Miguel what he wanted to eat because Peter B was going to go grab something from the cafeteria and offer to snag something for Miguel. Miguel ignored Peter question, "Peter, why?" Miguel was now hung up on the question that was famished for an answer.

"I don't think now is a good time for that conversation." Peter B admitted too Miguel, who still, even through their entire conversation, did not look at him.

"Now, I'm going to get some food for us and I'll just pick out a few things I think you might like. Take care of yourself, Miguel. I'll be back in a bit." Peter stood up and kissed the top of Miguel's head once before leaving Miguel alone again.
