I would be lying if I said I wasn't scared shitless. I didn't even tell my best friend that I fancied him, let alone that I'm in love with him.
When we turned the corner into the common room, no one was waiting in our usual spot. Fuck, they all know and now they hate us.
"Don't panic, were just very late is all." He tried to reassure me. I had a very bad feeling that wasn't the case. My stomach felt even more heavy as I realized now we had to walk into the great hall, hand in hand, me completely in his clothes.
We approached the doors, and I stopped.
"Amelia, if you don't want to do this I understand. My reputation isn't the best. But I'm all for this, I'm all for us." He looked me in my eyes. I could never say no to those eyes.
"Fuck it." I whispered, and led us into the dinning room.
I heard the mumblings, I felt the eyes on us, like daggers, I seen the fingers being pointed. However, something about this made me feel powerful. I held my head higher. I walked with a purpose.
The first face I seen was Pansys. She looked absolutely hurt. The rest of the boys jaws practically laid on the table. I took my usual seat to pansy, and now mattheo took his new seat, next to me.
I looked at her, and placed my hand on her thigh "Im so sorry" I mouthed to her.
She pushed my hand off, "you have a lot of explaining to do Malfoy." I hated my self in this moment. I should've just been honest with her. She was my best friend, probably the only one who wouldn't have judged us.
"am I the only one who is extremely lost right now?" Regulus asked the group.
"Yes, you were beyond helping last night so your a bit lost now" Enzo answered him.
"Our little Amelia has been keeping quite the secret" Draco shot at me, "our dearest friends have been fucking behind our back and are apparently in love now. Bullshit if you ask me." he snarled.
"I told you to watch your mouth Malfoy." Mattheo shot back him.
"Not again please, not here" Theo pleaded.
"Again?! What the fuck was in my drink?" Regulus now held his head in his hands.
"Look, were together its that simple. It wasn't intentionally behind your backs, and it wasn't for as long as you are all thinking. Can we just move past it?" I shouted to them.
They all starred at me, none of them knew what to say. There was clearly a side to be picked now, Draco made that very obvious.
And no one did answer, in face I don't think I've ever heard silence quite this loud.
Suddenly the mail owls were flying above our heads. Draco and I's landed right in front of him. "Lets see if mummy will 'just move past it' shall we?" He smirked, shoving a letter into our owl's beak shoving it back into the air to insure I couldn't catch it.
Everyone sat, with their mouths wide open in disbelief of what Draco just did. It was evident that even if they didn't like us being together, or didn't understand it, they knew this crossed a major line. A dangerous line.
My twin brother, who I once loved more than anything on this earth, just risked my life and felt absolutely no shame. No guilt. He felt satisfied, his face said it all.
Whatever was about to happen, because of his letter, I knew I would never be the same.
