"earth to semi?" reon said waving his hand in front of his face.

semi blinked quickly, snapping out of his thoughts.

semi zoned out for a good couple of minutes then listening to reon. not that he meant to.

"sorry, i remembered i had maths homework due then that i hadn't done, what were you saying?" semi lied.

reon rolled his eyes and laughed. "maths homework," reon said amused. "so nothing to do with the fact kaori is sat down there with tendou?"

it was semi's turn to roll his eyes now. "you're hilarious," he nudged him.

"you think you're man enough yet?" reon asked him teasing.

"i don't even know what you are referring to," semi ignored him, walking away from where kaori sat with tendou and headed elsewhere.

reon laughed a little behind him, and followed his lead, finding it amusing that semi was now clearly avoiding her after he said that.

semi had been in constant battle with himself recently about whether to ask kaori out. but he was terrified of ruining what they already had.

semi had been friends with kaori since they were thirteen, now he was sixteen and unfortunately nothing had changed about his feelings for her. he had been crushing on her since that first day in middle school when he was twelve. it was almost sad how long he had been pining.

but he had no idea if kaori felt the same. he was scared of rejection. but he was even more scared, that if kaori didn't feel the same, how would they go about their friendship? what if kaori decided it would be too weird and stop hanging out with him? it wasn't a risk he had been willing to take, and still isn't.

it was hard for semi since coming to high school, he was used to having kaori depend on him for majority of things. given kaori wasn't the most popular in middle school, and semi was, kaori was often just his friend and no one elses. but since high school, it was like something switched, everyone loved her, kaori didn't need semi as much as she used to.

were they drifting apart?

as though right on cue, two people laughing loudly was heard coming down the hall way. semi turned recognising both of the laughs and who they belonged to. kaori walked towards them both alongside tendou, tendou grabbing her shoulders and squeezed her shoving her forward as they walked forward.

tendou noticing them first, smiling and moving kaori to their line of view, kaori smiling to them both when seeing them and waving.

"hey! are you guys heading to dorms?" she asked them as the two got closer.

"we have practice, and so do you tendou," reon said looking to him narrowly.

"i know i know, i'm fetching something from kaori's dorm before practice, then i'll be there," tendou grinned and looked down to her. "why don't you watch practice?"

"no thanks, the third years scare me," she shook her head.

"they're hardly there anymore now, it's mostly us and the second years," tendou pouted as persuasion.

kaori shook her head.

"i'm good, i have homework anyway i'm going to meet up with kagura at the study room," she smiled.

"boring," semi rolled his eyes.

kaori looked to semi narrowly and folded her arms, taking a couple steps toward him.
