I wasn't talking, nobody was talking the entire time even after we entered the bar. I was only sitting with my beer like I've been drinking alcohol for a long time now. I remember I used to hate how it taste but tonight, I almost forgot how it taste. And I don't know why I can't stop myself from drinking.
"Hi, step sister." I got suddenly reminded of the conversation I had with Alma. And thinking about it only makes me want to drink more as I thought it'll help me get rid of it out of my head.
"I'll get another bottle of beer please." I tell the waitress and she nodded as she grabs me one.
I take the last gulp of my beer before taking a quick glance at Rafa whom I realize was staring at me the whole time. I was even quite surprised that he's still here. I thought he would just leave as soon as he drops me here but surprisingly I'm sitting next to him with a beer infront of us.
Almost forgot what happened the last time we've seen each other here.
"Are you serious right now?"
I raised my brow. "Do I look like I'm joking around?"
He roll his eyes before bringing it to me. "You already had enough, Loraine. You can't be drinking that much."
"Come on, you don't tell me what's too much. I just had two. That would not affect my kidney just yet." I said and I heard him heave out a sigh.
"Two is too much for someone who doesn't really drink, Loraine." I stare into his eyes.
He was correct. But I don't know if it was that obvious. Do I look like that drunk? Bea could normally drink four beers in one sitting and still not getting drunk. I just had two bottles and yet I feel my head starts throbbing and my face began to heat up.
A few minutes later, my beer finally served. But before I could even held it with my hand. Rafa grab it and starts chugging on it. I was shocked that I spaced out for a while as I watch him almost finished my beer.
"Hey! What are you doing?" I tried to grab my beer from him but he keeps shoving it away from me. "Hey! That's enough." I yelled at him and finally able to grab my beer from him. It was almost half empty.
When I bring my eyes back at him, he was now chasing his breath and his face just turn red.
"What's wrong with you? Why'd you drink my beer?"
"That's the only way I could make you stop from drinking." He said and pointed at my face. "Just look how red your face is right now."
"Oh, really. Why don't go do it yourself and see how you look like a tomato right now." He scrunch up his nose before looking away. And I laughed as I drink on by beer.
I'm supposed to be mad at him right now, but looking into his face makes me laughed at him instead. I just can't believe he would drink this beer just to stop me from drinking.
"Are you serious right now? That's enough, Loraine." He once attempt to grab the bottle from me again but I sent him a cautious glare.
"Just let me finish this one, okay? You almost drink everything. Just let me have the rest." I told him. He doesn't looked like he would want to agree so he just end up rolling his eyes. And I don't know but it makes me laugh even harder.
"Just finish that drink so I can send you home." He said which makes me look at him, intently.
"Why does it sounds like I owe you something? You don't have to do that."
"Just be thankful someone's willing to do that for you."
I snigger at his remark. "I just asked you to give me a ride, and that's it. I don't know you would stay here with me."
