As Severus Snape patrolled the halls of Hogwarts, tired after his meeting with Lucius, he saw the most peculiar thing, there were three pairs of shoes walking towards the stairs to the third floor. At first, he believed that some students were playing a prank on him. But he quickly dismissed the idea when he heard a loud sneeze.

'Your hair is so unruly that a bird could mistaken it as a nest, Granger.' said a voice that seemed to belong to a certain red-haired Gryffindor.

'Shut up or we'll get caught.' whispered another one, which Severus was sure was Granger's since he was all too familiar with it.

'Seems like Potter and his little friends are out on another adventure.' Severus thought.

He was thinking of bursting the children's ideas of whatever they were going to do but then he knew that he could deduct tons of marks from Gryffindor if he continued to follow them and see whatever shenanigans they were going to play. Even though he was mentally drained after talking with Lucius, he found himself charming himself to be invisible and walking over to the trio.

As they reached the third floor, Ron said,

'Are you sure you want to do this? Don't you remember how big that bloody dog was?'

'Yes, I need to do it, we can't just let Voldemort get the Stone, do you know how disastrous that would be?'

'I don't even know why I agreed to come with you two.' Hermione remarked, 'We could get expelled if we're caught.'

As they reached a door at the end of the corridor, Harry slowly opened the door, and they were met with the sight of a gigantic Cerberus. Then, Harry did something Snape would never have expected him to do. He pulled out a flute and started playing the most ear screeching tune Severus has ever heard. Somehow, Cerberus laid down and fell asleep.

'Come on, we need to reach the trapdoor but remember, be quiet.' remarked Hermione.

When they all jumped down the trapdoor, into pitch-black, they felt something was twisting itself onto their bodies, slowly being tighter and tighter. Harry and Ron screamed bloody murder.

Hermione said in a shaky voice, 'It is the Devil's Snare, it's sensitive to light, do you guys have any wood to light a fire with?'

'Have you gone mad? Are you a witch or not?' Ron yelled.

Hermione immediately casted Lumos Maxima and the Snare backed off and dropped them onto the floor with a cold hard thud. They passed through a door and discovered numerous small objects flying in the air. They found out they needed to use a broom to fly and catch one of the objects which was a key to the next room. Severus for once was pleased that Harry has amazing Quidditch skills.

Then, they needed to play 'Human Chess', Ron needed to sacrifice himself to help Harry pass the obstacle, he collapsed onto the group and told Harry and Hermione to go on without him and they promised him that they will come back for him.

The next obstacle was a potion one and was a tricky one. Harry knew that if he didn't have Hermione, he would be dead. They passed that obstacle and Hermione wanted to stay back and take care of Ron. So Harry ventured on his own.

When he entered the room, he did not expect to see his DADA teacher standing in front of the Mirror of Erised. At that moment, he heard a cold voice come out of nowhere.

'Let me see the boy.'

Quirrell said, 'Yes, my master,' as he unraveled his turban, which revealed a horrifying face on the back of his head.'Hand me the Sorcerer's Stone, boy.' the face said.

Harry realized that it was actually Voldemort talking to him and at that moment, Harry found that all of his Gryffindor bravery had gone.

'I don't have it.'

'Do not lie to me, you foolish child, I know you have the stone.'

Then, Harry saw that he had the Stone in his hand from his reflection in the Mirror. Suddenly, Quirrell was charging towards him so he put his hands out and a scream was let out from Quirrell. Harry saw he was melting the skin off Quirrell until he passed out. Harry was shocked as hell and just stood there staring at where Quirrell was just a few seconds ago, and processed what he had just done, he stood up unsteadily to go back to Ron and Hermione, but he collapsed in a heap.

Severus felt like he should be doing something to help his student and so he dropped the charm and rushed over to Harry. He saw that he drained all of his magic energy and if he didn't heal him in time, Harry's going to fall into a deep coma. Therefore, Severus used his magic energy to help Harry recover, he saw that his face was slowly regaining some color. He transferred his energy to him until he was fully conscious.

'Professor?' said Harry as he blinked groggily at his potion's professor.

'You alright Potter?' asked Severus tiredly.

'M'fine. What happened?'

'You used all of your magical energy up, and I transferred some of mine to you or else you would've gone into a coma. We need to go to the infirmary. You just defeated the dark lord.' Harry nodded, a bit too stunned to protest. He started getting up and they were walking towards the door of the room, Harry went back to Ron and Hermione.

'Where did you come from, sir?' asked Hermione.

They were walking back to the trapdoor. Suddenly, Severus lost consciousness.

'Professor?!' yelled all of them in unison.

Harry checked if he was breathing, and said, 'He is breathing but it's very faint, we need to give him immediately medical attention.' Just then, the greasy-haired, sallow-skinned man's face morphed into a handsome, young-looking face with slightly curly back hair.
