'Okay, Harry, you can come in again.' Benjamin (aka Regulus) shouted after he lifted the Imperturbable Charm.
Harry strode in and casted a curious look.
'What?' Ben raised an eyebrow.
'Something weird is going on and I want to know what.' Harry answered.
'Well, sorry to disappoint you but there's nothing you need to know.' Ben and Harry developed a kind of friendship during their time waiting for Severus to wake up and became quite relaxed around each other.
'Ughhh. No one ever tells me anything.'
'That is enough, Harry.' Severus lightly scolded
'Okay, okay. By the way, Healer Jackson told me to tell you that you will be leaving in two days. Isn't that great? Just in time for Hogwarts.'
'Harry, I am not sure if I would like to continue at Hogwarts.'
'What? But why? Now that you're nicer to everyone, they like you. And you teach Potions really well. Neville actually likes going to Potions now.'
'Harry, you have to understand that I am pregnant and might not be able to work as much as before. I would like some rest after the incident as well.'
'But...'
'I will write a letter to the headmaster. I am sure we can come to some sort of understanding.'
'Fine.'
'Harry, how 'bout you and I get some lunch at the canteen.' Ben suggested.
'Yeah, I'd like that. I'm famished.' and he quickly forgot about the conversion he just had five seconds ago.
As soon as they left the room, Severus picked up some parchment, a quill and an inkpot which were conveniently on his bedside table and began writing to Dumbledore.
Dear Headmaster,
Due to a recent incident which involved my kidnapping and impregnation, I am considering resignation. I am writing to you to ask if you have any advice you could provide me. Thank you and looking forward to your reply.
Regards,
Prof. Severus Snape
Severus decided to wait for Harry and Regulus to return to get one of them to deliver the letter.
A knock came from outside.
That must be them. They finished their meal quick.
'Come in.'
A tall man with blonde hair and a walking cane walked in, 'Hello Severus, I see that the Prophets are true after all.'
'Lucius. What brings you here?' he put on his neutral face.
'Oh, can't I check up on my friend?'
'How did you know I am here?'
'Didn't you see in the Daily Prophet? Rita Skeeter wrote about you again, said you were kidnapped and you got knocked up by Aaron Burke. Is it true then?'
'Yes, it is.'
'What are you planning on doing?'
'Well, I'm probably going to resign at Hogwarts.'
'You know the Dark Lord will not be pleased by this, correct?'
'The Dark Lord is gone.'
'He will return, I know he will. Good job getting guardianship over the Potter boy though, the Dark Lord will most certainly be pleased.'
Suddenly, there was another knock.
'I believe I should go now. Get well soon, Severus.' he waved and opened the door. When Harry saw him, he was shocked to say the least. After Lucius left, Ben shot Severus a look and Harry commented, 'What was he doing here?'
'Do you know him?'
'Mhm. When I was in Diagon Ally with the Weasleys, he started a fight with Mr. Weasley. He's Malfoy's dad, right?'
'Yes, did he say anything to you?'
'Yep, he pulled back my hair with his cane and looked at my scar, then he said, "Your scar is legend. As, of course, is the wizard who gave it to you.". It was weird.'
Severus: I cannot believe Malfoy would be so obvious about his support of Voldemort, why don't he just yell out his views.
'He came to wish me to get well soon. We were acquaintances during our time at Hogwarts.'
Ben made a sound at that comment.
'Oh and can one of you help me send this letter to Hogwarts to Dumbledore?'
'Is that the letter about your resignation?'
Severus nodded in reply.
'I'll post it. I just passed the Owlery on the way to the canteen.' Harry volunteered and ran out the door with the letter in hand.
Regulus Black (a.k.a. Ben) again casted the Imperturbable Charm and asked Severus, 'Did Malfoy really just come here to wish you well?'
'No, he wanted to know if an article about my kidnapping incident was true and to praise me for being Harry's guardian and that the Dark Lord would be pleased, but he also didn't want me to quit the job at Hogwarts.'
'Wait. You're still with the Death Eaters?'
'Regulus. I am going to tell you something but swear on your magic that you will never tell anyone, creature or ghost about what I will said.'
'Okay, I swear.'
'I am a spy for Dumbledore. I spy on the former Death Eaters to let the Light Side know who is on whose sides. When the Dark Lord returns, Dumbledore expects me to spy on the Dark Lord himself. Now do you get why I can't really quit? If I do, then I would not be able to spy for both sides. I wanted Dumbledore to do something about it, I cannot juggle teaching a bunch of insufferable brats and spying.'
'You know, I've always wanted a job at Hogwarts. I used to love playing "teacher and student" with my brother and cousins. I would often be the teacher and all the others would be my students. It was so fun those days.' he kind of drifted off for a while until he snapped back. 'Do you think the Headmaster will let me be a teacher there? So that I can help you.'
'Aren't you an Auror?'
'I can quit whenever I like. I hate being one anyways.'
'Why did you choose to be one at the beginning?'
'I dunno, it seemed cool and impressive. But your kidnapping had been the only case that was interesting. They don't let people as young as I am do important jobs.'
'How did they make you the Head Auror of a field team then?'
'I altered my student grades and they think that I am some boy genius so they hired me. The field team is pathetic, none of them have any experience whatsoever. We were lucky there wasn't anyone guarding the Burke House or we would have been in trouble. Did you know that my boss sent us to find his missing dog once? We weren't let to do any important.'
'But they let you handle a kidnapping incident.'
'The other Aurors were busy and we were the only ones available.'
'I cannot believe this.'
'So do you think Dumbledore would let me be a teacher. I would really be my dream job.'
'Maybe but there aren't any teaching positions opening up.'
'I should write to Dumbledore too.'
Severus made a hum of agreement.
