Your eyes felt heavy as you slowly woke. Everything around you was hazy, out of focus. The smell of earth and metal filled your nostrils. Your hand rose to your head as it pounded. You tried to sit up, but your body felt leaden. You laid there looking up at the ceiling, the pattern of it slowly coming into focus.  You recognized it immediately. You were in the basement of your house.

You tilted your head see the destruction around you. The wall on one side had partially collapsed and some pillars had fallen leaving metal rods protruding and some scattered on the floor. Bricks, rocks and glass were scattered about.

"You see my angel," a thick Russian voice said from somewhere in the shadows. "Without me all you do is cause destruction."

Your heartbeat faster as you looked around trying to see him. There were some lights set up around you but they casted shadows between them. You started to pull yourself up. Your bare foot hit the hard cement.

"Where are you?" you rasped as you looked around the room.

"I'm right here angel," he said laughing. "Can't you see me? I can see you."

"Come out you fucking bastard," you yelled. He laughed again.

"I don't remember you having such a filthy mouth," he replied. "Found the fight in you again, have you?" A shadow walked across the wall. "I like it," he taunted. "It will be like breaking you all over again."

You reached for the knife that Bucky had given you. But your waistband was empty.

"Looking for this?" he said finally stepping out of the shadows. You saw your knife in his hands. "It's very beautiful," he played with it in his hands. "Maybe I'll bury it with you when I'm done." An evil smile crept across his face. "Or maybe I'll just cut my steak with it."

"If you're going to kill me just fucking kill me!" you screamed at him. You eyed him down and he placed the knife in his waistband. His hair had grown longer, his beard fuller and scar imprinted across his cheek.

"My angel," He replied still playing with the knife. "When you left me, you hurt me so deeply. I was so lost without you. I tore apart the land finding you. Just for you to vanish again. I have waited too long to simply kill you." You stood taller now. Your eyes focused on him.

"I'm going to torture you first," he yelled rushing toward you. You put your hands out and tried to step backwards. But he grabbed your wrist pulling you into him. He held the knife to your throat as he kept your wrist locked.

"You're just as beautiful as I remember," he said sniffing your skin. You gasped in disgust as he ran his tongue across your cheek. "I see you have corrected my trophies on your skin." He rose the blade up again. "We can fix that."

You jabbed your knee into his groin. He let up on your wrist enough for you to back up. He grabbed at himself huffing and laughing. "You always knew how to make it worth their while."

"Fuck you!" you replied. "I'm not afraid of you anymore."

He laughed louder as he stood tall. "Is that so? Well, I'm sure that I can change that." He held up a small remote in his hand. "How bout we play my favorite game? Hide and seek." He pushed the buttons making the room go completely dark.

Your breath caught for a moment as the darkness surrounded you. But this was your home. A place you never felt fear and you weren't going to let him change that. You started to move quietly toward the door, hiding behind broken pillars.

"I'm coming to get you," he taunted. You tried to use his voice to figure out where he was, but there was too much of an echo. The basement spanned the house, and the door was all the way at the end. You moved quietly toward where you thought the other pillar was when he ran and pushed you making you scream.

"Where you going?" he teased.

You moved away quickly toward the wall to help you in the darkness. Using the wall to guide you.

"Imagine all the ways I'm going to hurt you for the way you've hurt me," he said. You felt his breath against the back of your neck.  You threw your hands out. Trying to push at him. But you fought nothing but air.

You couldn't wait any longer. You push off the wall picking up pace to try to get to the door. After a few steps you screamed out in pain as your foot stepped on something sharp. You fell in pain.  Raising your foot feeling but unable to see the glass shard.

"Found you," he said.  Turning the lights back on and towering above you.  The large shard of glass stuck out from your foot.

"Aw," he said with a menacing grin. "You're hurt. Let me help you."

He grabbed your foot and you struggled to get out of his grasp as he started to drag you back across the floor. You cried out as the pebbles and glass scraped your skin. You tried to kick him with your other foot, but he just kept moving forward.

He finally stopped and then he ripped the glass from your foot making you cry out again.

"Did that hurt?" he said looking down at you. "I'm sorry."

You pulled your foot back and pushed yourself up to escape. The pain throbbed as your tried to turn and run. He grabbed you by the hair pulling your back. Snapping  your neck back roughly as his fist tightened in your hair.

"Where are you going?" he asked. "You don't get to go until I say you do."

You snarled at him.

"On your knees, angel," he commanded.

You locked your legs as he tried to push you down. You pushed back against him. He kicked your knee causing you to fall. He held you in place by your hair. "Kneel."

You spat up at him. "I will never kneel for you."

He let his grip on you go as he slapped you across the face. You down on your hands. He picked you back up and hit you again. Your hair fell over your face, and you could taste blood on your lip.

It all felt familiar. You had been here before. You had submitted and you had let him win. But that was who you were and not who you are. He wasn't going to win this time.

Underneath your hand you felt sand and rocks. You grabbed a handful and reached around, throwing it up in his face.

He grunted holding his hands up to his eyes as he stumbled backward. You rose off the ground. He shook the sand from his face and stared at you with hatred in his eyes.

"I'm really going to enjoy this now," he said slowly stalking toward you.
