A large clap of thunder wakes the woman up from her slumber. "Fuck!" Y/N yells as she almost jumps out of her skin, messily tossing her things back in her bag and removing the chair from under the doorknob. 'I'll eat something later. For now, it's game time.' she thinks to herself. Fingers turn the knob while an arm pulls the door back, causing it to let out a small squeak from its rusted hinges. Zombies lurk in the foreground, they're so close that she can see the raindrops as it slides down their rotten faces. Y/N sets out after a corpse walks past the doorway. She's currently wading her way through a herd. A herd consists of 15-20 zombies, and they are the more tame version of the dead. There is another version of a group of zombies, and it is called a swarm. A swarm is made up of the more deadly versions of the undead, and it will consist of 70-100 of them. They are both mainly located in cities but they can also be found outskirts of places.

Y/N sneaks by a couple but has to stop once she sees a zombie coming straight past her. Thankfully, it's not pouring rain yet. Another clap of thunder sounds as the rainfall seems to get increasingly harder. Spoke too soon. The dual haired woman makes a run for it as some of the zombies come too close for comfort. She makes it out without a scratch, bite, or any other kind of injury, but the issue wasn't solved just yet. Now, she has to find another shelter to stay until the rain stops. The thunder clashes overhead while zombies grunt and groan and attack other people who didn't have any luck with getting away from them. Screams and crying out for assistance can be heard as it fades into the distance, the farther away Y/N got. She finally comes across a small house that's closed off behind a wooden gate. She slowly creeps closer, her body on edge as she soon stands before the front door. She pulls out a knife from her boot and grips it tightly in her hands, knuckles turning white from the pressure.

The door creaks as it opens, and flickers of dust can be seen floating through the air if you look just right. Her guard is up and on high alert, but that increases once she looks at the wall next to her. Long and jagged scratches line the interior. Y/N drags her finger across one of them before taking her knife and gently placing the tip of it in the gash. Her breath comes out in soft pants while her throat feels like it's closing. The notches in the wall are the perfect fit for a blade. The dual-haired woman looks around frantically as she continues to look around the house, stopping when she comes to a small staircase. 'Do I go up and check or just stay down here?' Y/N thinks to herself. The house shifts, resulting in a shriek from the upstairs floor. Without a second thought, she bounds up the stairs and slowly but surely checks every room until she comes upon a door that wouldn't open. She jiggles the doorknob and then puts her ear up to the wooden block to see if she can hear anything.

Slight rustling can be heard behind the door. "Hello? Is there anyone or anything there?" The rustling stops as a muffled groan can be heard along with a soft, "Please.. Help me.." "Are you human or one of them?" "Human. Help me, please." the voice begs again. Y/N tightens her grip on the doorknob and leans her shoulder against the door, then hesitates. "Prove it. Prove you're human." Silence. A knock sequence with four beats sounds, then the voice speaks again, "I'm Ayden Kim. Birthday is September 18th, 2000. I've got an older brother who I got sep-" "I got it. Stay away from the door, alright? I'm gonna bust it down!" Y/N rams her shoulder into the door a few times, which only loosens the door a tiny bit. "Fuck." she mutters, "Is there a key or anything!?" "Yes, but I don't know where they put it!" They? "They? You aren't trying to set me up, are you?" A disbelief laughter rings out, "If I was going to set you up, believe me, I wouldn't lock myself in a room with a stab wound in my shin."

"No need to be a smartass." Y/N says as she rolls her eyes and goes back to slamming her shoulder into the door. It's loosened more than it was moments prior. 'I'm gonna be so bruised later.' she thinks. She mutters up the last of her strength and kicks the door, which finally gives way. "Glad to see you're actually injured and not faking it." Y/N comments as she glances at Ayden, who is sitting on an old bed with her arms sheltering her from the debris. There's an obvious gash in her shin, the width of it extending to her ankle. "How'd this happen? Did you-" Deep coughing comes from downstairs, causing the two females to pale instantly. "Did you shut the door behind you?" Ayden whispers as she stares at Y/N waiting on a response. The only thing the other female does is nod while she looks down the stairway. "We're eating good today, fellas!" a masculine voice yells as it's accompanied by two pairs of footsteps.

Without wasting time, Y/N pivots as quietly as she can and helps Ayden to her feet. "Can you walk or run at all?" "I can limp. That's the best that I've got. We need to get out of here. These people are cannibals!" the blonde shouts quietly, "There was another person besides me, and now she's nowhere to be found." The girls look for another way out and take advantage of a small, busted window that was covered in duct tape and towels. "We gotta go and fast."
