The trio stays huddled behind a tree before running out and knocking two zombies to the ground as more start to spawn in from outta nowhere. "Mother of God, does it ever end?!" Ayden uses the spear and stabs three of them in the chest , so Y/N can come and stab the in the head. Sooner or later, the small zombie parade ends. Panting and the dropping of weapons as bodies collapse on the ground is all that can be heard. "Ayden!" Anjelo calls as he takes in a big gulp of air, tiny beads of sweat making him feel even colder, "Do you remember where your brother was last?" Said blonde wipes her face and shakes her head. "He kept mentioning some place called Jericho or Jeramyah or something like that. Why?" "Cause you're close to it." another foreign voice says. The trio was too exhausted to stand but still turned their heads to the voice. Before them stands another male with a curly buzzcut and fierce green eyes.

"At this point, if you're gonna kill us, go ahead and do it." Y/N mumbles to the intruder while she lets her head flop back against the snow. "Get on your feet, soldier! That ain't no way to talk in this economy!" Y/N furrows her brows and looks over at Anjelo, who is already looking at her with the same expression. "What the hell?" "Stand at attention, soldiers! Up and at'em!" the foreign man commands with multiple claps of his hands, "Hut! Hut! Hut!" Understanding that the man won't leave them alone until they get up, the trio complies. He puts his hands on his hips and tenses his shoulders, squaring them off. "Jesus! Can't you be quieter? There could be zombies around still, and you'd be drawing them right to us!" Y/N complains as she stands before the man, "Who even are you anyways?" The soldier seems to take offense as he cocks his head to the side and walks until he is standing fully in front of Y/N. "Look at my badge, maggot. Can you read?"

The woman's eyes narrow and turn into slits, glaring slightly at the man before she jerks her head away from his face. "I can, and you need to back up." she says while her voice drops an octave, the tone on her tongue is venomous and stale. "What's. My. Name." the man states, punctuating each word with as much poison as she spit out. "Rogers." Y/N admits distastefully. He smirks at her response before tilting his head to glance at Ayden and Anjelo, "You heard her folks. My last name is Rogers and that is all you should address me as." Anjelo looks at Y/N, who has her knife in her hand. "Y/N, don't!" Before Y/N can even manage to register what happened, she is disarmed with her face in the earth. "I suggest you don't try that again or else your arm will be broken." Rogers says while pulling Y/N's arm slightly more behind her back, the discomfort etching its way onto her features, "Do I make myself clear, maggot?" Y/N taps the ground three times.

"Good." Rogers releases her arm, causing her to immediately cradle the limb to her body and try her best to rid it of the pain and soreness that lingers. "I'm here as a friend, not foe. I mean you all no harm, but will not hesitate to do so if needed. Am I understood?!" Ayden and Anjelo answer back with meek 'yes sir's' while the dual-haired woman is cutting glares his way again. "Now. I help everyone or whoever comes this way because, by default, this is or was and army camp. So that means that there are thousands of living dead in this area." "Were you behind the zombie and human pile that we seen a while back?" The only answer that Rogers offers is a wink before be resumes speaking. "As I was saying, throughout here are a lot of dead. This area will be navigated through with silence and strategic movements. We will have hand signs that I will show you in a moment, but before that, any of you infected?" All three shake their heads.

"I've had a close call from almost breathing in spores in a building that we were resting in, ended up sleeping on the roof out of my own free will to protect the girls. Other than that, we've all been fine since." Rogers briefly wears a proud look on his face before it disappeared just as fast. He claps his hands again and nods at Anjelo. "You will bring up the rear when we walk into hell." Rogers then turns to Y/N and Ayden, "Y/N will be in front of you and Ayden will be behind me. Still following me?" Nodding happens again. "Good." he says as he begins to pace in front of them, "Hand signs are simple." He holds one of his hands up and forms a fist, "Wait." His hand shifts to where it's fully open with his palm facing outward, "Stop." His hand changes one last time into finger guns accompanied by a shake of his fist, "Go. Simple enough?" "Yes, sir!' the trio agrees before they walk closer to the former soldier. "Remember to stay on your toes and try your best not to use your gun or guns in this area. Knifes and silence will work the best."

Their feet move their bodies forward as they keep to themselves. "Why are you doing this? Normally, no one else would care, 'every man for themselves, as they say." Ayden remarks, "So, why do you give a damn?" Rogers sucks his teeth and sighs as he looks forward, the outline of the army camp slowly coming into view, "My whole camp went up into smoke before my eyes. I was the only survivor. How, I have no clue, but that's why." Rogers holds his hand in the air and the trio stop behind him. He turns and faces them, his arms motioning behind him. "Welcome to base camp, maggots."
