Everything goes smoothly and they were each given some vitamins along with a room to stay in. "Everything go smoothly on your end?" Y/N questions the minute she sees Anjelo walking towards her. He offers her a nod and runs a hand through his light brown hair. "I got a chance to look in a mirror and my god, the bags under my eyes are terrible. I thought my ex-coworkers were tired but I don't think theirs would compare to how mine are." Anjelo thinks out loud, the memories of his job coming to the surface in blobs. Y/N claps her hand on the man's shoulder and offers him a sympathetic smile, "Seen our little girl yet?" He shakes his head again before letting his eyes drift around the place they would end up calling home for a few months. "I see a lot of blondes, but not our blonde. Maybe she's getting some food?" The female shrugs before walking forward with her hands in her pockets. "I don't know but let's go get some food. I know I'm starving!" she remarks with a giggle. The cafeteria is huge and lined with a golden trim along the ceiling. "Fuck.." Y/N mutters, "Is this heaven?"
"Pretty isn't it?" Ayden says as she pops up next to Anjelo, who automatically swings his arm around her shoulders. "Hey, I found our blonde!" he cheers causing Y/N to let out a soft laugh. "Here I am! You guys gotta try the garlic bread sandwich. It has chicken with like a marina sauce kinda thing on it with some cheddar cheese and-" "Dude, I'm already sold. Just show me where the food is!" Two out of three people eat while the youngest sits in front of them with a smile lacing her lips. "This is so good." Anjelo moans out. "Careful there, buddy. People are gonna think you're having an orgasm plus those moans are a little pornographic." "I would gladly be a pornstar if it meant that I got to eat this everyday." A man who is passing by, smirks in delight, "I'll have to let my wife know that you love her cooking that much, darling. Also hot moans." If Anjelo and a firetruck were running a race on who was more red, Anjelo would win by a landslide. The girls laugh so hard to the point snot and tears make their way down their faces.
"Shut up! That wasn't funny!" Anjelo whines as he covers his face with his hands, food forgotten about for the moment. "You should see your face, oh my God!" "Y/N, shut up!" A deep inhale is taken before the owner giggles more and wipes her eyes with her fingertips, "I love you so much." Anjelo mutters to himself as he goes back to eating, his face tinged with the perfect pink tone. "Fucking around with our boy aside, did they take your guy's weapons too?" Heads shake while one of them takes a drink of water. "My knife is still in my boot and Anjelo has his in his pocket. Why?" Ayden snarls her nose, "Mine got taken. I mean, it's still here but I don't have it in my possession and it kind of sucks." Y/N snorts in response. "Maybe it was too big. Some people tend to be jealous of a woman that has a bigger weapon than them and I'm not talking about an actual weapon." The female smiles innocently as she chews her food while Anjelo ignores her and Ayden stares at her with a lowered jaw.
"I can't with you." the blonde comments with a grin. Y/N hums as her eyes trail over everyone in the vicinity. People converse with each other as if they've been friends forever or almost like they're family. Everyone looks different and the atmosphere is calm and friendly. How do you manage to stay happy as the world is ending right outside your window? How long would you be able to stay genuinely happy without loosing your head? "Seen your brother or anyone who looks similar to him yet?" Anjelo questions. Ayden sniffles as she shakes her head, her hair falling into her face. "Nope. Not even anyone who would remind me of him. He couldn't have changed that much. Have I changed a lot? Maybe he won't recognize me!" Anjelo shakes her by her shoulders, "Chill out, drama mama! You're his sister and I bet it hasn't even been a long time since you last seen him. I'm sure that he'll realize it's you right off the bat." Ayden looks down at her hands as her teeth take her lower lip captive.
"Was he by himself when you guys got separated or was he with a group?" Y/N inquires, her eyes constantly looking at everyone that walks past where they're sitting. "Might've been with a group. I don't know, wasn't focused on anyone else when he separated. Just him. I hope he's here." "You miss him a lot, huh? He seems like he's a good brother." Anjelo murmurs as he rubs the younger girls' back comfortingly. "I love you guys too, but you aren't blood." The duo hum in agreement. Sure, Ayden's sentence stings a little bit but they understand where she's coming from. Hell, you can consider yourself lucky if you still even have family in this chaos. "We get it." "That we do. Now, let's go into the square and see if we can get you in a better mood. I bet I can beat you in some training drills." Y/N says as she softly jabs her elbow into the girls' side. "Bet." Ayden remarks as her competitive side starts to shine through. The gym wasn't as big as the cafeteria but it was a decent size. Others were training against timers or another person. "Hand to hand combat?" 'Hand to hand combat."
The makeshift ring that they stand in has fraying ropes along with a gray and faded center. "3, 2, 1. Go!" an automated voice calls out. Fists fly and bodies dodge away from the attacks that threaten to harm them. Beads of sweat stand out against foreheads as panting can be heard. The fight goes on for a little bit longer until Ayden swipes her leg under Y/N's and causes the older girl to fall, letting her win the drill. "Good job, ladies. Go get some water." "Not bad for some newbies." a man with a tattooed forearm says. "Thanks. Nice tatts." Y/N mentions. A blonde head starts to say something but lets their body take off in a sprint and tackle the male in a bear hug with tears running down her face. "I've missed you so much!"
