Many days and months had passed, and now it was the end of November. The crew had somehow managed to find a calendar so that they could at least find out what month it was. "Well, we gotta find a store that has jackets or sweaters of some sort before we all freeze to death." Anjelo mutters through blue lips, "Some blankets would be lovely right now." "Hopefully we can find one. My toes have gone incognito." Ayden looks at the other two as she skips forward with a bloody spear clutched tightly in her hand. Y/N glances at the bouncy blonde with furrowed eyebrows. "How the fuck are you so hyper or not phased by the cold?!" Ayden giggles in response then stops skipping, slightly out of breath. "I am phased, but I'd rather be jumping around or doing something to get my blood pumping so I'm not as cold." "Even with your shin hurting?" The blonde waves the male's question off before bending over and pulling up her pant leg.

"Nah, s'all good! It healed up nicely, thanks to this lovely lady right here." Ayden finishes with a gesture towards Y/N. One girl grins at another as they carry on their journey. "Do you think it's gonna snow and we'll get stuck in it?" the dark-haired woman wonders, "How are we gonna even find food and things like that if it does?" Anjelo ruffles Y/N's hair fondly. "Chill out, mamacita, there's always rabbits and I'm sure that we can find a store that at least has some little something in it." She let's out a puff of air but soon takes off in a run once she sets her sights on a building in the distance. "Where you going?!" the remaining two question before starting to run themselves. Once they catch up to Y/N, they whack her on the back of her head simultaneously, causing the woman to flinch from the noise. "Ow! That fucking hurt!" "Don't run off next time and that won't happen!" Anjelo scolds the older woman. Y/N rolls her eyes but quickly replaces the annoyance with a smile.

"Look what I found!" she says as she makes a grand gesture towards the building they're standing in front of. "I found a store!!" Y/N bounces on the ball of her feet from the cold while Ayden gives her a brief pat on her head. "Good girl!" she jests playfully, which earns a soft hit on her arm from Y/N. "Okay, girls, stop playing around and let's find a way in here." After walking around the building and trying to find another entrance, they return to the front of the building. "Well, that was a bust." Ayden comments as she places a hand on her hip, shivering lightly as a small gust of wind blows. The only way in the building was through the front doors that were bound together by chains and a padlock. "Suppose none of us know how to pick a lock by chance?" Anjelo muses, running his hand across the rusted chains. "Beats us." "What if we went up instead of trying the front door?" Y/N mutters after a few minutes of silence.

They look around the building again, looking for a ladder and they find one. They climbed up with as much optimism as they could muster and cheered after they managed to open a hatch on the roof. "Easy, girls! I know we are in the middle of the apocalypse, but slow and steady is the safest way for now." Y/N enters the building first, followed by Ayden and then Anjelo, who closes the hatch behind him. It's so dark to the point that you couldn't even see the outline of shelves or the person in front of you until you had already bumped into them. "Oof, sorry." Anjelo mutters as he bumps into Ayden's back. She hums in acknowledgement and fumbles around until she grabs Anjelo's hand tightly in hers. "Well, at least we're warmer now, but does anyone have a torch or a flashlight? There's gotta be a light switch or something around here." "I may have one in the bag. Let me see if I can fish around for it. Also, Ayden, move the spear away from me, please. You keep poking my ass with it everytime you take a step."

They laugh as Y/N bends down and starts to rummage through the backpack, feeling around for something that resembles a flashlight. "I don't think-" she fumbles around one more time before letting a soft 'aha' slip past her lips, "I found it!" The woman presses the button and has to quickly aim it downward. "I'm blind now." Ayden comments while she rubs her eyes with the palm of her hand. "Karma, bitch." Y/N remarks with a small giggle. They walk forward with the light guiding their way. "What even is this place?" "I think it's supposed to be a department store of some sort. There's a bunch of furniture here, so we can sleep comfortably, at least. That's a plus." the male says as he drags his finger across a small bed with a thin sheet on top of it, grimacing at the amount of dust that litters his finger. "Dusty." Anjelo whispers with a sneer. "Dust isn't anything when we have the chance to sleep somewhere remotely comfortable." Y/N chimes.

Ayden agrees, jumping up and down when she sees a lone switch lingering on the wall. "Light switch!" She makes a beeline for it and flips it on with a flick of her finger, sighing as small clicks can be heard as the lights turn on one by one. "We got light people!" Y/N and Anjelo pump their fists in the air happily. "I've missed beds and blankets!" the older female murmurs before flopping on a nearby bed, causing a small cloud of dust to surround her. The other two follow suit and flop on their respective beds for the night, sighing contently with their choices.
