DENVER - BLAKE HOUSEHOLD
FRIDAY, 12:29 PM

Gwen sat with her back against the kitchen counter and with her knees to her chest. Tears rolled down her cheeks and she could barely even breathe. Things like bottles were being thrown and shattered down on the floor.

She watched as her parental figures argued and shot despicable words at each other. Zach and Cameron didn't even bother to realise that Gwen was sobbing her eyes out at the current scene.

First of all, her brother wasn't getting married to the love of his life. Second, her parental figures were arguing and filing for divorce. Third, she was so utterly and completely unhappy that it was sickening for her. She wanted to scream and yell all of her problems out, but she didn't. She couldn't. It wasn't about her, it was about Cameron and Zach. It was about Finney and Robin. Not her.

If she hadn't told Finney about the divorce so soon, then maybe he would've married Robin. If she hadn't been so absent then maybe Cameron and Zach would still be a happy couple. If she hadn't had dreams, then maybe her mother would still be alive. Then maybe she would still have her father. Then maybe her mother and father would still be happily married instead of arguing about her dreams.

It was all her fault.

But no one dared to see that. She was only sixteen years old, how bad could her life be? She's a teenager, obviously she's living her life to the fullest. She's only young, so everyone is focusing on the older people's problems because that's more important. Because she's in a phase, she's not actually sick or got any problems since she's young.

But Robin and Finney and everyone else are older so they have all the attention pinpointed on them. They're the star of the show, they're the centric. Not Gwen.

Gwen just wanted to be excited for Halloween. The group had a big trick or treat night planned, but obviously that wasn't going forward anymore until Robin and Finney man the fuck up and realise they're perfect for each other.

Gwen didn't need all this shit dropped on her. She should be enjoying her last few years as a teenager, not sitting in the corner of her kitchen watching two of her favourite people argue and scream at each other.

"You made them break up!" or "It's not my fault I fell out of love with you!" was being yelled at the top of their lungs.

Gwen couldn't take it anymore. She stood up from the floor, still letting the tears fall down her face. She picked up her keys from the rack at the door and left, walking down the driveway and then running when she got to the sidewalk.

She didn't look back. She didn't want to. It was like the first time she ran away from her childhood home.

Both homes she has lived in have bad memories. She didn't want it like that anymore.

Gwen sprinted down the sidewalk until she made it to Griffin's house. She knocked on the door and thankfully Griffin opened it, his face immediately softening when he saw her tears.

"Come in." he said softly. Gwen smiled weakly at him and stepped in, shooting a small wave at Griffin's father. He smiled at her and waved back, then going back to intently watching an ice hockey game since the hockey season started.

Griffin led her to his room and she collapsed on his bed, falling asleep at least five minutes later. Griffin smiled and plopped himself down on his desk, studying for a test he had that included 30% of his final grade.

i really don't like how this came out, my writing has been a little slacky lately. i'm so so sorry! writers block has been kicking my ass for about a week and i start school next week so im a little all over the place. i promise i'll write chapters with better writing quality soon!!
