Outsider

Glory is over

So a week has past and the glory of being injured is over. Everyone has gone back to hating me and pretending that they didn't know or notice me and Kai has gone back to being the most popular kid in school. The teachers are back to normal we are having no special treatment anymore and once again I feel like an outsider.
After the accident Kai has become more sensitive, every time I got hurt or injured he would feel so bad about it. I think it's because he couldn't be there to help me in any way but I'm not sure. He still regrets the accident. Everyday when we get to school he looks at me in the eyes and says
" I'm so sorry, I should have been watching the road, I didn't mean for you to get injured and get put in hospital, I will never forgive myself. I'm truly sorry"
And every time he says that I reply
" It's okay babe, I'm fine and you're fine, everything is okay."
He doesn't believe me and just hangs his head and cries.
I feel really bad for him but that lets me know how much he loves me.
He doesn't talk that much anymore and I can't stand it. I want things to go back to the way they were.
At lunch a fight broke out between 2 year 10 guys. I don't know what it was over but it was very serious. Kai wanted to step in but I told him that he couldn't because of his special powers but he couldn't help it. He got into the middle and broke it up. The year 10 guy on the left punched Kai and he was furious. The inner demon was coming out, I didn't know what to do, Kai punched the older guy and I rushed over and pulled Kai away before it got serious. Before you know it Any came running over to Kai
" Oh my gosh, are u okay?"
" Yeah I'm fine, but why are you so interested?" Asked Kai
" I just wanted to see if you were alright, and to say that you were very brave and looked cute while doing it"
There we go, that's what I was waiting for
" Well thanks Amy but I have a girlfriend so if you could go away and not talk to me again I would very much appreciate that, okay bye"
Said Kai
I couldn't help myself I burst out laughing and Kai came up and hugged me. I hugged back tighter and didn't want to let go.
