The bad news

The next day early in the morning my step mum came into my room, looking very sad and you could tell that she had been crying. I asked what was wrong and she just said
"I think you need to come with me and see this "
So I followed her into the kitchen, and with my own eyes I saw my dad, dead. I count believe my eyes, he was just laying there, lifeless on the ground covered in pills. He died from a drug overdose. I sat next to him and started to cry, my step mum came over and put her hand on my shoulder and said
" I'm truly sorry Avery, I'm truly sorry "
" I'm okay, but I *sniff* have to get ready for school " I say and walk of weeping.
At school I didn't tell anyone about what happened except Kai. The bad thing is Bri overheard and told Amy and soon enough the whole school knew about it.
" So your daddy died to, I bet it was your fault, because who would honestly want to be around you ?" Amy said with an evil grin.
Just then Kai came over and he seemed to be so pissed off the " Hey! Shut up u bitch, just because your popular doesn't mean that everyone likes you, in fact NO-ONE does and that's a fact. so you can just shut your mouth before I shut it for you!"
Then Amy's and Bri's jaws dropped and they both stormed off
" Thanks Kai that was sweet of you " I say, blushing a little.
" Haha that's okay she needed it, she can be such a bitch sometimes " he replied.
The bell rang for 1st period and we both had sport do we walked together to the gym.
We were playing soccer and I actually kinda like this game. I played it for a few years and not to brag or anything but I think I'm pretty good at it.
I was kicking goals and doing awesome tricks that made everyone look at me with surprise.
2nd period was art so me and Kai walked together to the art room and sat next to each other and started to draw. He was a really good artist and started to draw the side of my face. It looked amazing and he said blushing a little
" Would you like to keep this ?"
" Haha of corse I would " I replied
I don't know why but I feel more comfortable around him.
The recess bell rang and everyone fled the classroom. We hung out at recess and I actually really liked it.
I had doubled history 3rd and 4th period so me and Kai sat next to each other. Our lesson was continued from the last " vampires and demons ". Kai hated this topic but I don't no why. I liked this topic so the 2 periods went fast for me. Lunch time was great. Me and Kai were really getting to know each other. I told him my story and he told me his, I wish that it would never end but unfortunately it did. We didn't have 5th period together but we did have 6th. So we said our goodbyes and went to class. I had music and he had food tech. Lastly I had geography and we were laughing all the way through because we didn't know what the teacher was saying, it just sounded like a bunch of French words. Class ended and it was home time But Kai asked me to stay behind for a while
" What is it ?" I ask
" Avery green I want to tell you something " said Kai
" Okay, what is it? "I said
" I......I.......love you " he says blushing
